dumptrucking
Great find with that herby, The originals are getting rare. Lots more old cars are getting cut up with the price of steel up so much and the reduced rail traffic lately.

dumptrucking
It's not that kind of spot... yeah he does not understand that the hobo streaks around yards go way back. They indicate where to catch out, where to run, where is safe, etc... I find the genuine markings around yards just as interesting as the monikers on the cars. It is the living tradition and history of the dieing lifestyle.

It is the living tradition and history of the dieing lifestyle. you're almost half right. the age of hobo markings-as-knowledge-dissemination are pretty much gone. it used to be that there was an entire symbolic language scrawled strategically in the vicinity of yards, but that's gone the way of the "traditional" hobo in general--probably dead before that even. I did a whole Master's thesis on this shit, homie... Enough yap. Post flicks.
