ChaR'04
thanks sarah, not a big fan of pendulum, but the liquid mix looks good.
Sarah Tonin
yeah thats the most solid liquid mix ive heard in a long while. very seldom i hear a mix where every tune thrown in is a banger, start to finish.
RumPuncher
the whole term 'liquid' is kind of new to me. We used to call it 'intelligent dnb' but I'm sure it's the exact same thing.
Sarah Tonin
i always thought "intelligent" dnb and "atmospheric" dnb were interchangeable terms, which sounds more mellow and laid back with a few amen breaks here and there. liquid funk is more vocal, has disco/house vibe, more soul(not dark) and the breaks are funkier and basslines roll a little bit more. not really mellow as intelligent dnb but danceable. RumPuncher
well I'm going to grab both those sets and give them a listen. I used to be REALLY into dnb, like buying records and going to see the big names every week, but lately I've been out of touch. I saw Stevie Hyper D's last north american appearance and it kind of lost something after that.
ChaR'04
If your feeling the liquid funk, check out Hospital records, home of London Elektricty, High Contrast, and also Logistics new album (Now More Than Ever) just released on said label. Sarah Tonin
yeah i threw them up because i thought the rough one was a really decent jumpup/dancefloor mix and the other one was a funky and smooth mix and not the same shit you hear everytime you go out to an event nowadays. i really hate going out and seeing a dj/producer artist go out and spin jumpup/dancefloor tunes even though he doesnt even produce those type of tunes as well. i came to see you play out because i like the shit you put out and im hoping to hear a set from you that pumps out tunes along those lines. just mi dos centavos. oh well. hope you enjoy both. RumPuncher
I'm enjoying the redeyes mix right now. you know who's great to see live? Dillinja. Dillinja isn't the best dj out there, but his tracks are always perfect.
