i dont know what version of illustrator and photoshop you guys have ill tell you a trick with gifs and jpgs gifs are indexed colors for text and smaller pictures with solid colors with lil or no shading gif is dope the cool thing about a gif is that you can make the back ground transparent in photoshop leave the back ground empty but the problem with it it has a lil matte around the image which can be any color it gives an ugly halo image around it unless you make it the same color as the background youre posting it on. so far as i know illustrator doesnt save shit to make things look good on the web as for illustrator shit is made up of vectors so when you open it up in photoshop in any size shit would be crisp and clean thats what illustartor is used for its a kick ass program to make vectored images for either flash images or good text and logo design which i use for webdesign. as for jpg it is recomeneded for either really large images and photos involving many colors so if you wanted to post a piece on the web itll be best to use jpg for two reason file size is smaller and it wont chop up the colors making it indexed. i will post some examples of some gifs saved in photoshop but the design made in illustrator be right back......

the image is fine, thing is, its just the ill9 file opened into photoshop and converted to jpg. i tried to do all that wacky ass tiff export business, but it came out retarded. and the background managed to change colors on me along the way too. it was dead on when i did it in illustrator.
