i can only use a live cd atm b/c none of the software i use

is linux friendly and i don't have time to learn new stuff.

Well, okay...my whole point for trying linux is to get away from the dreaded Bloat that comes with XP...all I do off the web is DJ with the comp, and I need faster access to my mp3 files than I get w/XP...and even with Opera, my comp just lags on the web...now 12 oz. pages are up in less than three seconds. Now, that´s the stuff!

 

So, knoppix is where it´s at? I may get an old machine and turn it into a dedicated linux box.

for the longest time i was running a 400mhz machine with 128 megs of ram.

 

in fact, i did most of my 3d artwork on that machine....3d studio max like what!

 

the reason i could do this? well, i was running my machine at peak performance. squeezing every little drop it had to offer.

 

 

i've made sure to include all the tweaks and shit i use in this thread.
