Vanity - you dont have any way of borrowing a XP CD off someone so you can run a repair?

I just had a go on one of the test servers replacing the MSGina.dll through the repair consol and it seemed to work fine, I believe XP has the same repair consol when you boot from the XP CD.

if you can manage to quickly grab one off a friend then follow the instructions on:

http://www.netadmintools.com/part190.html

if that doesnt work hit me back and I'll do some XP testing.

wait - not being able to get a copy of XP was the problem in the first place.. that's what you get for not reading things properly..

Try and bootup in Safe mode I believe that should allow you access to swap the MSGina out although I've not tested it.. if it doesnt work then the CD repair is your only hope..

I installed 'Total Recorer' on my system but I've since uninstalled it.

However the sound drivers are still there and unless I set it to my prefered sound drivers,

I get this buzzy shit sound from TotalRecorder interfearing.

how do I clean out the drivers without fucking things up?

I simply went into the sounds and multimedia settings in control panel and selected the preferred device for sound playback as my soundcard instead of playing it throw totalrecorders device drivers."

CASEK - I need your help.

I have a USB jump drive and I plugged it into the comp

last night and it showed up as a 'removable storage device'

instead of a 'USB Mass Storage Device'. It's an mp3 player too

so there's an lcd menu on it and it says 'Space available = 0 Mb'.

Can it be reformatted? is it dead? What's the deal with USB mass storage?

Apparently It's not a driver issue. Little help?

so I got in touch with Lexar and the tech help guy's response

was 'I'll give you an account number and you can send it in to us'.

he asked if I wanted the data recovered........

but It's not like I didnt back up my Important Files

the tech tried to walk me trough the basics of the device manager

and I told him I already did all that AND I even reinstalled the USB drivers.

He knew shit was really broken when he heard that.

There's one on the corner by my house and it's cant be more than

der!!!!!!

wow.... that's a nice angle.

back to the topic at hand 'Free Wireless Internet for Big Key'

So I plugged in my roomated shitty wireless card into her shitty dell laptop (celeron!)

and I found 3 available networks while sitting in my TV room (no windows).

One was a secured network, but the others were not. muwahahaha.

So this morning I grabbed a wireless adapter that's got a nice antenna and hooks though usb2.0

damn..... I might start chacking 12oz on the weekends.
