It dealt with all angles of the drug trade, and link them together in one.. drug dealer drug trafficer drug trafficer's wife ATF the fiend the fiend's family The movie was gritty but realistic, that is why most people wouldn't like it. This was a well rounded, masterfully done examination of the drug trade and the hypocricy of the laws involved. The original series which inspired it (from the UK I believe) is awesome as well... city of god is good, but the version i saw was all sub-titled in english. Quoted post Typically speaking foreign movies are better watched in the sub titled version. Dubs take away from the movie, making it sound ridiculous and not being true to the scripts. Pusher - Danish film about a drug dealer who has a really bad couple of days. Pretty awesome film, I guess there were a couple of sequels I never saw. Kinda hard to come across. Angelheart - Deniro, not really a gangster but he's in the gangster mode. A good movie, nonetheless. Hate (la Haine) - French film, more of a crew movie then a gangster film. New Jack City - Over the top crack dealer movie. Best action line in Hollywood history is uttered by Ice Tea: "I wanna kill you so bad my dick is hard." Sexy Beast (don't listen to weapon x although it does have undertones, which gives it a new edge, its fucking great) 4. Donnie Brasco 5. Goodfellas Bah there are more but theyve all been mentioned. Scarface is shit, king of new york is shit, Carlitos way is shit. Gangster number 1 is excellent, Get Carter is fucking excellent. Lock Stock is shit.
