i think the prices of lenses is a solid reason. that doesn't come down to preference.

good thread. lots of people asking about point and shoots. simple answer to that is get a canon g11. the nikon canon debate i find stems from the lenses. canon's glass is faster and can be of better quality but that comes with a very high price tag. nikon lenses are also good quality just more affordable.
