  1. Wifey and I bought a new fridge last month, so I have converted the old one for fermenting beer. Drilled a hole in the side of the fridge to run a thermometer (the black wire in the top right) that controls an external thermostat to keep the beer at a consistent cool temperature while fermenting... Massively hacked together, but works well.  Will get around to building a better shelf for the beer, but at the moment it’s just wood off it’s and scrap bricks with some bonus rap letters.

Just finishing about a 50 hr work week.
I have to be disciplined enough to peel myself away from work or I would it’s keep going. There is always something that needs to be done.
some tell me because it’s salary it’s not worth it. Even tho it’s not all about the compensation-however salary plus overtime oh and that essential pay-I have never had a place of employment that I want to be there all the time. It is the dream job for real. Ever have your employer tell you they NEED you?

I can relate! I am a massive workaholic, easily knocking 10+ hours of overtime every week... I am working on cutting down though,  I have a newborn son at home, so I would rather be a constant part of his life instead of donating my time to the company that I work for. I do love my job, and find it intrinsically rewarding beyond the money. But I am trying to recalibrate, more time at home with the family, and more time working on personal projects instead of pouring every ounce of energy I have into work.

  3. My first beer is still bottle conditioning, looking forward to cracking into them and sinking a few.

How did you get into brewing all grain @Hua Guofang? Seems a lot more rewarding, but much more in depth with a lot more variables...

    Those are absolutely great!

Corita Kent is really interesting. Sort of ignored as a pop artist in the 50s/60s, she is gaining some recognition now. I heard about her on a podcast that mentioned the  list of rules for her art class, they read more like solid life advice than class rules.

  5. Brisbane has quite a few good independent breweries, I have a soft spot for Newstead though, been going there for years... also, their session ale is the best midstrength on the market imho.
