  11. what about the Brocket radio station tapes those kids made.. the one making fun of indians haha About Brocket 99 There are a lot of stories as to how this tape came into creation. The one I've heard the most often is that it was the creation of some student radio DJs at a university or college in Alberta, Canada. Apparently one of them decided to try to sell the tape in the University bookstore which resulted in all the involved parties getting expelled from school (and even charges brought against them)! However, by that time enough copies of the tape had gotten out to make it into an underground hit. This tape has been copied a phenominal number of times and has been heard and enjoyed all across the country (at least)! There are tons of other stories about how Brocket was created, but whatever the case, the main thing to remember is that it's not supposed to be taken seriously! It is a parody of native stereotypes and should be taken as such. Political Correctness Before you get on your high horse about racism and whatever, please take note that these tapes are enjoyed by native peoples just as much as by those "damn whities". The stories about the origins on this tape are unclear on whether it was made by natives or non-natives - funny how it's perfectly acceptable IF it was made by natives, but the same tape is totally UNacceptable if made by people of other ethnic backgrounds. Brocket Itself Well, if you've gotten this far you must be pretty serious about getting a copy. Here are the files you've been drooling for: # Brocket 99 (budget) (recorded at low bitrate to reduce size, full version) [3MB] # Brocket 99 (quantity) (The Mog's remastered copy, full version) [63MB] # Brocket 99 (quality) (best quality we've heard to date, missing 15 mins) [33MB] # Lysol Rap (a tribute song by The Dick Twang Band) [3MB] (If you like it, please support the band by purchasing the CD from their website)
