  1. put in my vote for Eastbay... dude took it
  2. word bro! theres no right or wrong way to do something, if it looks good then you did it right!
  3. p.s. most of the advice SHIFT gave is really good usually you should lay down the shade that will be the lightest area to the entire area, then color in the black areas, then the shading, then work from light to dark. work wet and work fast. make sure to define a lightsource so you know where to shade and do highlights/lowlights if you need to blend then lay down the lighter color, then go over it with a darker color, then go back over it with the lighter color again. another good tip is to use a color that is between your lightest color and your darkest color to blend. or just use the Prismacolor colorless blender(if you're using prismas, but it also works on other markers) for highlights, you can use a nib and white ink, or a thin brush, and white acrylic paint. also, if you want to highlight/lowlight something it doesnt have to be white or black, you can just use a lighter/darker shade of the same color
  4. sorry shift, some of that is misleading advice. when coloring in, you should color in tight circles and work wet. if you use even strokes in the same direction then you will get streak lines; you would have to go back over them. watch this: http://www.prismacolor.com/sanford/consumer/prismacolor/mystudio/flashPopup.jhtml?flash=marker.swf coloring tutorial by Prismacolor
  5. yeah, if you hold the marker about an inch over the paper horizontally and blow hard on the tip, some ink will come out onto the paper like an airbrush effect

  9. All prices in US$ rounded to the nearest $10 from Newegg. Main systems only- peripherals not included. Case not included either because many people may reuse an old case, or want to choose their own case for their personal aesthetic desires. ~$20 for a cheap case, ~$50 for a nice case, ~$100+ for a expensive case. Hard drives and DVD drive is the builder's discretion, these are just general suggestions if you have no idea what you want. FOR ALL SYSTEMS, UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED: RAM: G.Skill 2x1GB DDR2-800 (or Mushkin, Geil, Corsair, Patriot, Team Group, Kingston, OCZ) (~$180) Hard Drive: Seagate 7200.10 320GB (~$80) DVD Drive: Lite-On DVD+/-RW (~$30) FOR NON-GAMING SYSTEMS: Pick a gaming system below and replace the graphics card with a nVidia 7300 (~$50) and replace the PSU with the one from the budget gaming system. Budget gaming system (~$530) CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ Brisbane (~$100) Board: GIGABYTE GA-M55SLI-S4 Socket AM2 (~$90) (Better suggestion anyone?) RAM: 2x512MB DDR2-667 (~$70) or spend more with the 2GB above (~$180) Graphics: ATI x1950PRO (~$170) or save money with the nVidia 7600GT (~$110) Hard Drive: Western Digital 160GB (~$50) PSU: FSP Group ATX400-PA 400W(~$40) Mid-range gaming system (~$1000) CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo e6300 (~$180) Board: Gigabyte 965P-DS3 (~$120) Graphics: EVGA 8800GTS 320mb Superclocked(~$310) PSU: SILVERSTONE ST50EF 500W(~$100) High-end gaming system (~$1450) CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo e6600 (~$310) Board: Gigabyte 965P-DS3 (~$120) Graphics: EVGA 8800GTX Superclocked(~$600) PSU: Seasonic S12 SS-550HT 550W(~$130) Uber gaming system (~$2900) CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo x6800 (~$970) Board: EVGA 680i (~$220) Graphics: (2) EVGA 8800GTX Superclocked(~$1200) PSU: Silverstone ST85F 850W (~$220)
  10. hp / dell pre-built i guess, shop around and check out prices get one that fits your needs!
  11. depends... only listening to music and burning dvd's? get a good motherboard that has an pci-e slot so you can always upgrade in the future, make sure it has sata connecters and lots of ram slots(hopefully supports 3 gigs of ram) the mobo will probably cost $100-$200 for the video card, if you arent using it for any gaming then a cheap card should be fine... pci-e cards are generally cheaper and better than agp cards right now make sure the processor you get is made for your motherboards slot for processor/video card brands, i suggest the intel/nvidia route, they are the clear winners in the spec wars right now and amd/ati are losing badly but keep this in mind, all the new hardware for DirectX10 games will roll out in april, which means everyone will be upgrading then... if you want to wait til then you can probably save mad bank by buying peoples shit off of ebay get a good soundcard... not that expensive, and pick up some speakers get a good dvd burner, this is a SATA drive so keep that in mind, it wont work with legacy motherboards with IDE connections: SAMSUNG 18X DVD±R DVD Burner With 12X DVD-RAM Write, LightScribe Technology Black SATA Model SH-S183L - OEM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827151141 sams - $42 buy new hard drives if you want, or get a motherboard that DOES have an IDE connection too, so you can use your old drives for the computer case you're going to put it in, any mid-tower to full size ATX case should be fine... dont buy an expensive one for the power supply make sure its compatible with motherboard/drives(has power connecters for sata drives too) and make sure the power supply is at least 500 watts im not sure what hardware you already have, you might have some stuff that doesnt need to be upgraded and you can save money going the homebuilt route will save you about $500
