  1. those look super cool! are they "The Tiny People Art of Slinkachu"? thanks for sharin the pics
  2. can't get that first link to work over here don't know of sci-fi space ship or vehicle kits that don't require painting. I think AMT is reproducing the old Star Wars kits. Most of the models in the movie were basically painted gray primer yes, Thunderbirds models rock!
  3. one of my favorite threads on around here! yes lets see those figs . . . the bridge work on this tank is next and final after cleaning all those parts, I went on a bike ride to uncross my eyes
  4. fist 666 , 4x4 , thanks cool! _:MemphisOrDie:_, if you build the Dr.Zira, post progress here so we can check it out. As far as Gundam scale info on the models, I've only built one at 1/144. Usually more parts just means more time required and as wafflecakee says, if you have the money for the larger import scale kits wafflecakee, Badass build. What kit suit is that? a lot of the line work are washes (thinned paint) touched into the recesses and detail
  5. the tracks are on and painted
  6. More paint and weathering progress on the IT-28 Bridgelayer.
  7. time is really what it takes and it's not always available Sleazeside Heights - yeah it's just an old LIFE-LIKE EAD - looks like a nice show to attend, thanks for taking the pics and sharing the show I attended wasn't even a model train show, but a scale model show (cars and tanks and planes) I was walking through the vendors area and spotted this old dude selling HO kits. While talking to him he said that he wasn't into the modern stuff and wanted to move those so I bought 'em this image looks interesting, and did this water look like like resin or how did they do it? good billboard idea ZED - cool you got those I remembered you mentioning something about those before the same mold makes production sense for these companies
  8. Purchased these at a show this weekend for 2 bucks a pop. Plastic wheels and ram horns but a good score. The old era Chessie, in the upper right, was free for buying the others. Hopper kit by RoundHouse
  9. thanks for sharing those photos of that show, CH I wonder if that's a bi-level or tri-level :D
  10. sounds good, hope to see those progress or finished shots also, be nice to see some photos loaded here of some of the models in that show if you're going to if you want this is more progress on the WWII Russian Bridgelayer tank (IT-28) in 1/35 this also needs to be done for a show at the end of the month
  11. this looks very interesting I'd like to get a hold of scale drawings like that
  12. cool, checkin this out post WIP pics of this conversion build for sure
  13. what kit project are you going to dig out? some of those up there are contest material, at least looks like it from here

  16. Nice! bulged the sides with a disposable lighter? that's how to do it? looks real real weathering washes look good, oils?
  17. I've worked with John Law on several projects. This is one cool, hard working and knowledgeable cat this thread is an appropriate place to locate this event information: Two Explorers Present Books and Images from 30 Years of Infiltration History http://www.sfstation.com/two-explorers-present-books-and-images-from-30-years-of-infiltration-history-e1093801 San Francisco, CA – John Law and Jonathan Haeber are a generation apart but they have a common interest. Their exploits have taken them from the top of the Golden Gate Bridge, to the depths of underground nuclear missile bases, to the now-dismantled Neverland Ranch. On January 6th at 8 p.m. the two aficionados of infrastructure and building hacking will talk about their books and present images from a combined 30-year saga of photographing and exploring the off-limits sections of the Bay Area’s built environment. Law is best-known as a founder of such avant-garde San Francisco institutions as the Cacophony Society and Burning Man. He was a charter initiate into the Suicide Club, and recently published The Space Between (Furnace Press, 2008, ISBN 978-0-9772742-4-1). Haeber has been visiting restricted and abandoned sites for over a decade. In 2009, his nighttime photos of Neverland Ranch were viewed by millions, gaining new meaning upon the death of Michael Jackson and the dismantlement and liquidation of the theme park. Haeber’s work has appeared in The New Yorker online, CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, Der Spiegel, the San Francisco Chronicle, and National Geographic News. His book, Grossinger’s: City of Refuge and Illusion (Furnace Press, 2010, ISBN 978-0-9772742-8-4) tells the story of America’s most iconic Catskills institution – a city unto itself that has remained decaying after the 1986 bankruptcy of the pleasure resort. “At the heart of what I do is a deep commitment to discovery and adventure,” said Haeber. “John [Law] has been a pioneer in redefining what discovery means over a century after Frederick Jackson Turner declared the death of the frontier, and I’m honored to be speaking with him.” Law and Haeber will be presenting their images and signing copies of their books at Chez Poulet Gallery (3359 Cesar Chavez St, San Francisco) at 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 6th, 2010. You can also purchase the books directly from Furnace Press. Contact: Julia Solis solis@furnacepress.com 1205 Manhattan Avenue, Unit 1212 Brooklyn, NY 11222
  18. well done this decal was not funny and you handled it well I agree with Zed and cutting out the letters and with getting the 'hands on it' factor involved but again, handled well
  19. nice! is that a modified Fujimi kit? how did you paint the dark panel lines? I knew it! after seeing the way you handled the decals on that hopper, knew you must have built models in the past clean builds and paint on those - - ' must give props to others before you again...'
  20. I heard of this before, maybe from you on here. Been meaning to try this coffee tech soon whoa, this is going to be like installing wall paper :p and post some of those model cars in the models ... not super thread I'd like to see them scales too
  21. yup, what Rusto and Zed already said, the piece decal looks great but the reporting marks decal needs fixing or replacement. If you decide to replace it then lighten the background a little while printing a new one. It looks a little too dark what scale is this? as far as weathering, sometimes subtle weathering is tougher to do than heavy weathering. There appears to be eight rust spots horizontally showing through previously primed squares on your prototype pictured car
  22. is he twelve and has tantrums now and then? well, at least you have pictures
