hell yeah is right. its all about the panthers and the bangles this year. many people may not agree with me here but thats alright...sometimes you have to be wrong. dont feel bad about it.

i like how steve jobs just tea bagged everyone in the "mac community" and ran off with their money. this is a fantastic example of why im never walking around with the "new shit". usually it just ends up being an expensive stamp that says "im a sucker".
ps - you know what ive never done, ever? looked at my nano and wished i could watch you tube videos on it.
pps - you know what else ive never done? thought that the amazingly simplistic ipod dial was too cumbersome and wished for an ipod with a 3 inch touch screen.
i honestly dont know how apples marketing team does it.

DOOM METAL is more inline with what "goth kids" are into, but its usually pretty tech.
sorry man, i like doom metal too much to let that slide. doom would be heavy, droney metal such as BORIS, sunn 0))), earth or even neurosis and early jesu. its definitely more geared towards elitist record collectors and pot smokers than silly ass goth kids who go play dress up and go hit the town. fuck those nerds.
ps - speaking of metal, ill be going to see baroness in a few and will follow that up by seeing boris. honestly, my show schedule for the next three months is kicking dicks in.
pps - i hung out with some guys in a fantasy metal band one night...the conversation was so fucking absurd i cant even start to do it justice.

i still have the first issue somewhere upstairs. its pretty amazing what this whole thing has turned into though i agree, its a total bummer that 12oz/4thw isnt seeing the cheese...i cant say im too suprised though as every book youve come out with has been so lavish that i actually end up feeling like i underpaid when i get my hands on them.

youre definitely a smart guy and im not accusing you of pulling things out of your ass by any means. im just pointing out where people like dawkins come from and that he and others are not viewing science as the end all be all. for many its simply a much, much better avenue to follow when trying to make sense of life and because its based on reason its the perfect reference point in this debate.
ps - the dawkins parody on south park was good. i think it simplifed dawkins argument to fit their format but hey, its still something to laugh at. i was actually kind of bummed that dawkins couldnt find any humor in it. thats a little suspect.

what cracked just mentioned is something that dawkins devotes an entire chapter to in the god delusion. if memory serves, in this particular chapter he actually states that science is not perfect but regardless, does provide an overwhelming amount of probability about the way our world functions which is something that religion has not been able to do in its many, many centuries of existence. if this is viewed as blanket dismissal its no ones fault but religions. when analyzing the probability of god you cannot take everything that we have learned through thousands of years of study and place it on the same level as religion and expect it to result in an honest assessment. anyone who would do so is simply putting religion on the same untouchable pedestal it has been on since its creation, which is insulting to science, the process of understanding and even religion, if it is the unshakable force it is made out to be.

"Formal education" isn't a load of shit if you actually invest yourself in it, rather than just show up and go through the motions. There's a lot to be learned at college that just cannot be learned in any other setting. Just because the amount of idiots in college is on the rise does not mean that higher education is useless. A degree is not an instant win in any debate, but it definitely grants more credibility, especially a PhD. At the very least, college humbles a person, if they are dedicated to their education. At the worst, it becomes an extension of high school and an excuse to party for four years on mommy and daddy's money.
what i was saying is that i dont think a formal education should ever be used as a yard stick to measure the validity of someones knowledge and opinions. ill probably go to school at some point for educational and professional purposes but in the meantime im not going to sell myself short just because i chose the alternative avenue of self-education
