  1. Damn, thought that first one was going to be a good zombie book.
  2. This reminds me of that scene is Jurassic Park where fat computer nerd dude is trying to escape the island with his shaving cream can and gets stuck in the rain. The part where those little bitty dinosaurs overwhelm him while he's slipping around on the mud bank. No idea why, but yeah... First thing that came to mind. But smash regardless.
  3. Wow, fucking-a... Member since 2006 and one post to your name? Crazy... Glad you finally managed a post. Hope you continue...
  4. Crazy this thread is still going on... In my younger days I'd have smashed that diesel chick in the blue bikini on some Nat Geo wrestle crocodiles in the Sudan tip just because. Bet she'd be an awesome contestant on Naked & Afraid.
  5. tri-tip on 12 grain bread, lettuce, tomato and hot & spicy mustard. $5.49 at Albertsons.
  6. Eating a rotisserie turkey and cheddar sandwich from Albertson's. I've been pretty impressed with the sandwiches considering the size and quality and fact that they cost $5.49. But occasionally you get stuck with a deli person that sucks and gives you a weak sandwich.
  7. Yeah, probably a good suggestion. Probably wise to also put a link to some basic rules together, though that seems to not be a problem with the current state of things. Just so you guys know, the new forum theme is done for all intents and purposes. I'm sure it'll evolve over time, but it's been worked on and tested for months now and the last of my bug list has been completed. Now I need to find some time to wrap up some other areas of the site, but that's mostly about adding in content and not so much development. We also have a mail server setup and once we launch plan to start sending out emails again so would assume it'll start picking back up a bit.
  8. hand made corn tortilla, chorrizo with melted cheese and fire roasted green peppers. watermelon juice.
  9. Yeah, thinking maybe I'll get to build out a tips section or some sort of tutorial. I though everyone knew, but this thread is proving otherwise. As far as resharing, I'm not sure. It's typically frowned upon as leaching but I'd be happy to look into a share method. Guessing they might have some addon similar to the way YouTube allows for embeds.
  10. Read the Amazon reviews of those books...
  11. Been meaning to reread that and Animal Farm, but haven't gotten to it. Have also noted many complaint on Amazon that the versions being sold now are abridged and some of the more subversive concepts have been diluted of edited out. Almost seems like a pun, if not ironically Orwellian for big brother to edit a book like 1984.
  12. Yes, that allows you to put in an image URL. If you click the "Attach" button or even drag and drop into the comment field, you can just straight upload. Like I said, I'll probably do away with the third party images, but haven't gotten to it yet since I need to ensure I have the storage capacity.
  13. Wow, freakin amazing! You climb into that powder at all? What we're you doing out there? Can you explain the image hosting comment? Should be as simple as drag and drop uploads for image attachments. 3rd party image hosting is longer needed on the forum. In fact was planning to not even allow it in the future as it's a shame to see so many awesome old threads full of broken image links from photos hosted in random places that are no longer still around.
  14. Couple Christmas' ago, the wife's mom got me The Road. That got me started on post apocalyptic type fiction, which lead to reading zombie novels. At this point, I've about read every zombie novel off Amazon with a 3 star rating or better. Actually thoroughly enjoyed the ones by the independent authors that are Kindle only. That said, if anyone's looking for good zombie reads, check out the Gathering Dead series by Stephen Knight - The Gathering Dead (A Zombie Apocalypse Novel) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004SYAY2S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nKybybNGPCKDZ Not zombies, but similar and an awesome fun read is the Purge of Babylon series by Sam Sisavath - The Purge of Babylon: A Novel of Survival (Purge of Babylon, Book 1) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H9OT6K0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rOybybKZ7ZV5M Not for nothing, but Amazon Prime and the Kindle app for iPhone totally save my life during long nights when I can't sleep. I'll dig through this thread later, but to speed it up... Anyone else into trashy zombie fiction?
  15. Just a heads up that if you obfuscate your IP, generally those sites will still block your access. You literally need to connect from a USA domestic IP or they won't serve up the content. I tried that and even though I could reroute requests so that I was connected via a USA IP, it wound up being worthless for bandwidth intensive shit like streaming video. Just didn't work. Like I said, this was years ago, but at that time, it was just those bootleg streaming sites or bit torrent.
  16. Not sure if things have changed, but my experience is that most major sites have geotracking that disables access outside the USA. I was unable to use any of those streaming video services at all. The international versions, of those services, if they existed, often had local content instead so all the TV shows were different and usually not in English. On most sites, instead you get a splash page saying that due to licensing, the content is only available in the USA. Likewise, most major sites, including Google, Amazon and CNN would default to the foreign version of it. Made it a real pain in the ass to figure out how to access the USA versions (if they allowed it at all) since you need to know the language. Not trying to dampen your enthusiasm, just sharing my experience with this. The only way we could access TV and movies all year long was if we got lucky and found one of those bootleg streaming sites. Even then, it was really difficult so mostly we did without.
  17. Noticed the join date here says 2012. Is there an older account you'd like to recover?
  18. Wow, big move to leave the USA. I actually did a year in Berlin myself. Had an amazing time and appreciate the fact that we did it, but wasn't nearly as easy as I thought it would be. Oddly, it was the little things... TV, shopping for groceries, etc. The stuff I loved doing when visiting cause it was so different ended up being the thing that became frustrating when you really had to do it as a chore. Definitely worth trying though, IMHO.
  19. Ha! Yeah man, hoping to have the land to host a get together for sure.
  20. Actually looking forward to reloading. Have a great Hornady setup that I've barely gotten to use since I've been either working or traveling so much. Was interested in seeing how precise I might be able to get with hand loads and how it might compare to match grade ammo once you start pulling out concentricity tools and OAL gauges. Also way cheaper, especially since I'm probably sitting on about 10,000 once used .223 brass. Figuring it'll also be the only way I can really shoot 338 LM rounds once I pick up that AI.
  21. LOL! I was actually thinking the same thing. Honestly, I could spend $50 to get him a themeforest site going that'll be 1000x better in a a couple hours. Perhaps trade for a knife and a promise that he'll wear a 12oz tee in every interview moving forward?
  22. Side note: The new jacks on here can note @beardo has a registration date of April 7. 2000. :trophy:
  23. Wow, great to see you man! Look forward to seeing what you paint. Kinda crazy how we somehow became old men talking about living in the hills and dusting off paint cans. Hope you start a road trip thread or something at least.
  24. Jeez, dude must built that on Geocities or something. LOL! Looks fresh for 1998.
