    no that's not a typo.

    NERD help is needed.

how can I record an asx stream like http://www.vrt.be/wm/stubru/hang1607_HI.asx
    something like 'streamripper' for winamp.

asfrecorder seems to be a buggy piece of crap, so any thing else?
+ I dont want to install WM9 just to use something like WMR80.

wild effyoo... that's exactly my motivation too!

first you need Windows Media player 7 +
( I say just get 7 because you probably dont use WM anyway, so fuck 9)

Then you can get WMRecorder 9 or 8.

    here's a link to 8 (freeware) http://home.wanadoo.nl/lc.staak/wmrecorder.html
    9 will cost you.

there's a 'live' mode that is hard to use,
and a 'url' mode where you just punch in the addy
and it will record the asf stream to your drive,
and in the background while you listen to other stuff!

    version 8
    http://www.netfor2.com/WMR80.JPG'>

    version 9
    [img]http://www.netfor2.com/WMR90.gif'>

not much of a difference except the GUI.
Now just convert the asf to mp3 or wave and you're rocking out with the sock out.

    nice! i DL'd it.
now if i can just figure out how to find the URLs on the 2manydj's site you provided. that dang scrolling thing on the bottom is ruining the only way i know how to get the direct links.

yes mamski... that could work nicely.

effyoo.... right click the 'Listen ADSL/CABLE' button and check the properties.
That should give you a URL ending with .asx.
    paste that into the ripper.

haha thanks Key, you would have thought i knew that...

do you know anything about getting .ram streams? i found one, but its only a trial version that lets you record 40 seconds at a time and you have to listen to it as well.
