  5. i was just trying to find photos who is it? very odd situation.. but if my man could carry my baby i'd go for it.. i don't want to do it. .. i know thats fucked up but i'd give up that right so fast.
  6. false. the person below me has had a 3some.
  7. awesome info, thank you so much.. macau is now written into the itinerary.. still trying to figure out the beach portion of the trip in thailand, maybe indonesia will satisfy that requirement... know anything about booking the internal flights in advance vs booking there? i would rather be flexible but don't want to risk a price increase. any idea?
  8. yeah we're flying into jakarta but thinking of heading over to bali after that and do the romantico thing. where are the best sights, temples, tourist things to check out? is it worth staying in jakarta for a day or two or just head out? what is the best way to get to other islands? bus, then boat? flight? have a recommendation?
  9. this trip is going to kill my budget and it's totally fiscally irresponsible, and kills my savings but i didn't travel after my undergrad and went straight to work and never went anywhere. so i figure i have to get it in while i can before the routine of working life holds me back. the ticket alone is $4200 already bought, was about $300 more than i expected.... but i figure staying with people and traveling with someone will help hold land costs down. but yeah i figure i need about another $5000 for everything. i hope i will not spend it, but i need to have it and friends who are willing to wire/loan me money if i need it. and for photos? yeah i need to take a shit ton, but i lost my camera in paris 2 weeks ago...
  10. as for israel i have friends there who live in jerusalem and they live their life normally every day.. even after the last bombing.. i talk to them on MSN daily.. and when i was there last i felt more safe there than here. and i even went over to the West Bank in Palestine. no problems. sad to see how it is but i was never threatened.
  11. word.. i just got back from a week in ireland and paris. i stayed wtih someone i knew in ireland but paris blew my mind on expense! i bought nothing and spent a lot! it was about a $600 tix from here to ireland then over to paris on a cheap flight then in paris most of the time i spent about $1100 total including food, and hotel (not hostel) . depends how you want to travel.
  12. indeed. i will definitely try to make it over there. 30min hover sounds rad.. how much is it? and taking a plane to Chaing mai might be doable, i looked into flights within thailand and they're pretty cheap running about $35 USD roundtrip. we will just have to figure out logistics. how is the south of thailand? there is a cheap flight that goes down to phuket, is it worth it? anyone know anything about indonesia? we're flying into Jakarta then probably over to Bali. i know nothing of this country.
  13. i am going to these locations because i think it will be a great experience before the world becomes even more homogenized.. the SE asian countries i hope will be different and beautiful, dubai is going through an amazing transformation that i just want to see for myself (and my friend is there) i love israel and can't wait to go back. turkey and greece, why wouldn't you want to go there!? i really really really wanted to go to india but i couldn't swing it, i want to spend at least a couple weeks just there alone. also i stayed away from most of europe because the USD is crap and i can't buy shit there. i AM spending my own money so i need to go places i want to see, that my money will go farther. in addition i know people in some of the places, so i have a place to stay and a tour guide. i just got back from ireland and paris and i couldn't buy shit! it was way too expensive to have fun like i want. everyone has their own opinion of what they like to do or where they want to go. these places appeal to me, and that should be an explanation enough, but i have offered you plenty of explanation now. so now do you have any advice on these places or were you just commenting on how undesirable they are based on YOUR opinion and no fact to back it up? and which would be your preferred destinations?
  14. it's not my parents money... thank you.. i'm in grad school my parents haven't had anything to do with funding me for 8 years..
  15. i got mine from an around the world ticket sales place.... my ticket price was no joke... 2k sounds high though.. i would guess more like $1400 for one destination but maybe i'm wrong.
  16. yeah i'd like to hit morocco, but that's planned for next year when i go to portugal.. but yeah i always seem to run short on money... but bring less??? usually i end up not bringing enough and kicking myself. i'm going to start off with more, and send some back when i determine what is traveling better. :)
  17. yeah i loved israel.. i was there for a month last summer.. saw masada, dead sea, sea of galilee, stayed in jerusalem, went to tel aviv, ein gedi.. and even over to Petra Jordan but never made it to eilat so i'm going back, i hear they have amazing diving...... and the men are hot.. another reason. :)
  18. i'm going to try to make it to chiang mai.... somehow and down to the south.. and i'm getting my visa's before i leave. i live in DC so we have all of the embassies and consulates here. i figure get all the ones i need before i leave.. i'm going to need one for thailand, israel and turkey... figure why not get them now. i'm going to bring two bags with me to asia and the other person i'm traveling with is going to take one home with him when he goes and i continue on with a small single bag after thailand. i'm a fashion loving girl so i have a high clothing requirement. or i can just shop in dubai.. those grave things sound interesting. macau ? we're not in hong kong for very long but the person i'm traveling part of the trip is from portugal so i'm sure he would love to go over. on a hover craft?! hell yes.
  19. i wanna see the underwater building, and the largest indoor ski resort but it kills me how wasteful it all is... kills my green sensibilities.
  20. oh hell yeah i'm all over the architecture. just finished up my masters in Arch so i'll be snapping building pictures like crazy.. and monkey temples sound amazing too. i love all buildings..
  21. :barf: waaaaay too much fake tanning.. never thought she was hot to begin with. watched some jenna 'revenge' movie.... ick.. never understood all the hype
  22. yeah i have a feeling it will be like this.. last august i was away for a month in israel and it was ok... but that was because i was in one place the whole time.. i think that the moving around too much is that makes it unbearable. i was in spain for 2 weeks last summer too and that wore me out because i was at a new hostel every night... but if i can put my stuff in one place for more than a couple days then i should be fine.. the constant in-transit thing blows.. ... and i'm going to miss my dog like crazy... but i figure i might as well do it while i can before i re-join the full time work force. thanks for the advice though.. appreciated.
