..they already do spy on us. They don't need net 2.0 to do it. It makes it easier, but it's already being done.

 

I have seen and known of such monitoring taking place, firsthand. I spent a couple years working in an AT&T Central Office which routed data and voice for the cable company as well. (since AT&T had infrastructure first the cable companies use their equip for a fee). They definitely monitor EVERY SINGLE data or voice transaction taking place regardless of origin, destination, or content.

hard to imagine what kinda facilities it would take to monitor it all but its also hard to imagine what a single entity such as AT&T does with 13 billion dollars profit from a single year...
