Re: NYC Subways - the good stuff

This looks like it says Basic T.D( The Destroyers) anyone know who this is by?

Cool piece anyway

This is BASIC 5

I posted this on Dec 31, 2007, on my fotolog.

I will repost this at a better quality soon.

The piece on the left says FAB.

I'm guessing that this is paint scraps.

The Destroyers had a lot of stuff on the Broadway lines early 80's.

I posted this because BASIC 5 did a bunch of nice pieces

and I hadn't seen any posted online.

Too many writers seem to be excluded from history

when people online think all the artists that existed are the ones with photos posted.

There are some great artists whose trains may have never been captured by photos,

or just in private collections.

For example [i'll use a popular writer with a ton of work]

I think more than 90% of MITCH 77's work on trains

hasn't yet been posted anywhere I've seen.

I remember a lot of art from 1980 that isn't posted anywhere I've seen.

I hate it when I see people writing that some writer must not have mattered

since they haven't heard of them from their computer.

Our history is about real events and people, not just what some outsiders know about.

I also posted a different photo of the same train that shows the whole train.

SHOCK is up on the right.

thats exactly why this thread was started..

i have been saying that for the amount that is shown on this thread or online probably only represents 25-35% of what was on the lines.

personally I love your shots, because again even though I was around at that time I still dont know everything

keep em coming page
