war pigs Posted April 16, 2007 Share Posted April 16, 2007 look at enue and FH, all their structure is the same really?? i mean..if you're trying to paint letters that look like letters i guess the "structure" of the letters wouldn't vary much from their actual letterform being painted but if painting a spaceship or a noodle and calling it a K is "experimenting with style" then yeah i guess i see your point... but i'd say the structure of those pieces is fairly different aside from the fact that they're all letters.. and all say the same thing.. raspberry Posted April 16, 2007 Share Posted April 16, 2007 what i tell the kids who come into my shop is learn letter structure...the biggest prob 2day is that kids think they can just jump into complicated letters b4 they even can do a str8 letter..u cant rub b4 u walk..learn the right way to paint,,learn to tag...learn throw ups..learn str8 letters..then move onto burners..its a progression..dotn just decide to be a writer 1 day and go do wildstyles the next..its doesnt work that way.. demerock graffiti comix 400a washington ave belleville nj 07109 973 759 1110 nj's only graff/comic book shop! Agreeeeeed. you need to get in control of your letters before you can do something really nasty and that takes practice. simple sht looks best when your a youngin', your just gonna discourage yourself if you try something too serious. finding a simple structure you can do well is important.
