lord_casek
Re: «<< 12Oz Computer Tech Support >>> rdf: i meant what brand of router. linksys, etc.... and what type? i run a wrt54g v3 and i run alchemy 6.0 on it. ok, gentlement i mentioned this earlier. i'm going to start building htpc's (home theater pc's) using micro atx cases/boards. here's the problem: not alot of the tv cards are slimline. they're usually pretty big pci cards. so, what should i use? my tv wonder pro is small, but it's not great quality. another thing: what OS? linux would be the best bet, but usability is another thing. gotta be simple and in a good price range. the cases cost anywhere from $25 to $350 (the expensive cases have lcd screens on the case. touchscreen on some) the power supplies are around $25-$30 for a 200 watt processors: $40 and up soundcard:$25 and up (i'd want to go with a nice card. maybe that new x-fi $70) motherboards range in price about $70 or so would be a good deal for a nice mobo. so, we're looking at around $300 or so. maybe $450 if i wanted something really nice. the sale price would have to be something reasonable, but fair (to me). these aren't going to be built for poor folks. i'm looking at marketing to the new wealth tech savy gen. micro atx's usually only have a couple or three pci slots and one agp...i can find a nice video card (radeon 9250 and above on ebay) as these won't be gaming computers. i really don't have to incorporate anything too big and expensive. just gotta do it right and stay in a nice price range for myself. any suggestions? advice? words of wit? a beaver or midget joke? This was free, and it probably does a better job of keeping things cool than most other solutions.
