Indianapolis, Indiana has one of the worst public transportation systems in the country. It's probably because of the Indianapolis 500 in May and the fact of car promotion.. either way, there are no trains, light rail, trolleys, even no extendo accordian buses for a city ranked 14th largest in the u.s with over a million living here. There is no central bus hub and the connections between routes is lame. The latest buses stop at around midnight and there are no heated stops (hardly any benches either) which makes it very horrible in the fall and winter.
