good to see you back Ruck my man, I don't come in here as much as I should, but here is a real quick character I prefer markers, I use prismas, touch twins, sharpies, promarkers, and a posca uni for highlights, on cardboard I use mainly posca paint pens though and paint pens on canvases

I can see what you are attempting, keep practising. Try thinking of some of the extensions as additional bars to the letters and some more finer ones to connect. I would lose the real curved style in the extensions and make them more jaggedy and sharp, almost like they are mimicking the choppiness of the letter E and work how they will flow into the next letter. If the letter is to sit alone then don't have the extensions frame it, use it as a chance for the letter to be exploding out almost Shaken, try working out how that connection is gonna move onto the K, it flows from the S to the N then just stops would have looked good flowing through the whole thing, maybe try and make the other letters have a lettle more flow to them rather than kinda sitting upright, but dope nonetheless. Rait - do some straight letters, don't make them real curvy and don't make the letters so high when they are so narrow, try and make it a bit beefier. Zid - I think the A is far too big and chunky in comparison to the other letters, I would have preferred them to be more uniform rather than slopping up to the middle and back down, that looks cool in a 3D style but in those letters it looks a bit weird proportionally for me. damn an essay for a crit, at least I didn't say go simple haha

Philly - your philly hands suck, learn basics first before jumping on to other styles. I agree with REA that R is completely out of place and too rigid, all the sketches you did look rushed. it is blackbook work you have all the time in the world, use bars, build up your letters and keep things consistent

Boris is a good guy, I have never seem him beef unnessecarily, any crits I have thrown at him he takes on the chin

I have no problems with people being harsh about shit, but it is when it is done without adding anything constructive, you know? had you said it is a piece of shit but if you did yadda yadda to improve then that is cool.

i disagree REA, while it isn't perfect it certainly isn't wack, it is certainly better than some of the other things posted in this thread recently, it has a fun style to it, i like it not takign shit to seriously just how it should be. If you wanna call things out for being wack then Zeek and Infared would have been better targets (not dissing you guys just work at simple letters)
