I hear ya. Jordon writes so much inane bullshit. He had a good story but he just isn't a very good writer IMO.
I read Martin's series first, and his writing is all world where Jordon's is just meh.
But now that I've read a few of Jordon's I see where a lot of Martin's ideas came from. He was pretty inspired by Jordon.

I'm about halfway through 4.
From some of the people I've talked to who have read all or most of it, the part you made it to is what you have to struggle to read through and then it picks up again quickly around book 9.
One of my buddies at work has all of them so I'm just grabbing them from him 2 or 3 at a time. I've been pushing him to read a song of fire and ice because he likes these ones so much.

Very Baizley-ish. I can't really find anything from him online other than his tumblr page. I'd like to see more of his stuff.
