  1. Nice collection of autoracks. Do you use paint markers only or sable also? If you re-paint that tri-level ICH, I would suggest not sanding. This would destroy the car side paint and graphics as well. What about if you mask around your original ICH and then spray with your airbrush. This way you'll get the solid fill you want and preserve the original model car sides
  2. B) just take your time, it's fun. The hairspray technique is similar to the salt treatment but different. Yeah, def post progress pics when you can
  3. bicycle chain link next to tiny turret ready for pintura
  4. I started on the Draisine. While building the trucks I decided to make it HO track compatible so I could run it on a layout if I wanted to in the future. Having option are good I have a track cleaner car that would fit this function perfectly. The following images are of this conversion As you can see, it matches my other HO rolling stock. In this case a Bi Level Autorack
  5. I know this kit: http://www.revell.com/model-kits/trucks/85-7222.html#.VGLKLEuSL8t So, you're thinning out the body plastic. (fenders and running board area?) That's some advanced action sht right there! Have you heard of the hairspray or the salt techniques yet? They work well for what you are planning
  6. MC - again, I'm not getting email alerts to posts in this thread anymore or I would have replied immediately to this D&D/ AD&D can be very technical if you want to play it that way. It can also be a simple and practically a conversational event around a table of friends. Gary Gygax said that D&D can be played with nothing more than two people as long one of them has a coin to flip. Seriously this is true. We used to go all out with psionic abilities and sht. Don't have to play this way. Like Gary said, it can be played at a bus stop if that's where you're at. Yeah it can get load and fun esp. on a good 'ol cold and rainy night Those figures are impressively painted. I've never got this good at this scale Mr. Inc - I don't knopw how to help you with the lost spring but a good hobby size compressor is an oil less small one with a compression tank. If you can run it at about 25psi, you're good for scale models I airbrush about 1/3 of the time. Like you describe; Sable brush, Airbrush, Aerosol can
  7. I'm glad I check in here often because I don't receive email notification anymore. The site must be bugged out
  8. Fist - Cool Mr. Inc - I've never seen that one as a kit but that would be nice! Looks like it would have to be a kit mash project with the wheels from one kit and the body conversion from another kit etc. I'll ask around though
  9. Fist - Thanks for the Heads Up on the garage sale. I re-read my post and it reads ;like I was being an *sshole. All the info I described is true as I see it MC - I like those too. However, I (and my friends) used to play Dungeons & Dragons many many years ago. I still have all the stuff and would play it again if they all showed up on a beer night
  10. These are die-cast (mostly metal) preassembled scale models of what looks like in the pictures as; aircraft and trucks. The ad describes them as "Vintage Texaco Collectibles", which they are. I've never had interest in this realm unless it was a specific subject that was not produced in plastic. The Marathon Checker Cab in 1/24 scale. There are no plastic model mfg. that produce this as a kit so I had to go die-cast. (Franklin Mint on Evay for about 50 bucks) How vintage and valuable and collectable . . . I don't know. I've never gotten into die-cast. What I do know about these types of hobby items is that if the original box and packaging is intact, then more value. If you intend to check this out then look for numbers on the box and/or certificates inside that denote the series number in the limited production of these collectibles. If these are included with the original box/packaging, then the price is right. If not then haggle the Fck out these items

  12. It's a very detailed model. I was going to try a conversion build using an Athearn 57' mech reefer but the 64' Trinity is taller and has a different roof line. I still have the Auto Parts box bodies you sent me a while ago. I might try a CT CRYX reefer conversion build with those
  13. BLMA Models, Inc #52723 Trinity 64' Reefer Tropicana Road No. #3334 Super detailed and not weathered yet . . .
  14. Re: D • I • Y [do it yourself thread] Thanks for the "QUOTE" reply LOL, I cleaned off any spots by wiping it down before presentation [ no dirty talk ] There was a DIY thread, I think in Zero Zone. I remember posting a DIY clock radio with optional head phones project
  15. Re: D• I • Y [do it yourself thread] Well done, B N H I was looking for this thread a while ago. I thought it had a few more pages but might have been corrupted during Melt12Melt I recently fixed our blender. Summer is arriving so we need fruit shakes and other nutritious blends to ingest If interested, it's here: http://forum.12ozprophet.com/threads/the-your-day-in-pies-photothread-non-artistic.122516/page-984#post-8750384
  16. If you want to go with 1/18 scale because it looks like the year model of your 1/1 ride then you might want to look into RC (Remote Control) kits, parts and accessories. This is a whole different department of scale modeling that I'm not familiar with In 1/18 you can buy that die-cast in your example and then get a rock crawler chassis kit and kit mash the body and interior tub over a chassis like this: http://rctruckstop.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/vaterra-slickrock-chassis-560x432.jpg I just looked into the on-line sources that I go to for plastic kits and non of them all selling these. I was going to suggest the Tamiya Jeep Grand Cherokee over an Aoshima Toyota Hilux chassis and wheels, both are 1/24 http://www.scalemates.com/products/img/8/7/6/128876-10941.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51BJ6ShKKrL..jpg .. know what I'm saying? There will be some cutting and modification necessary of course. I just saw both of these kits on evay
  17. Recent release rereleases from Italeri 1/35 scale kit #6516 http://www.jadlamracingmodels.com/images/PRODUCT/large/11535.jpg 1/24 scale kit #3888 http://www.danskmodelhobby.dk/upload_dir/shop/184-6.wm.jpg 1/1 scale specs http://www.oceancontainer.com/specs.html
  18. Fixed our Kitchen Aid blender today. The coupler teeth broke and wasn't operating to optimum efficiency. I'm on the internets so no problem After finding the model number on the bottom I went on the internets to find replacement coupler if existent. larger photos: https://imgur.com/a/SQToc This part was broke These are the only tool needed the thread on the spindle stud are righty loosy, lefty tighty. Opposite of what you might be used to unless you're a welder. Start chiseling 'righty loosy' all the plastic shatters off continue chiseling at the aluminum armature disc until it unscrews off the new part arrives in the mail just in time follow instructions included to screw on by hand lefty tighty larger photos: https://imgur.com/a/SQToc
  19. I think I recall you describing this model build. Which kit Impala is this?
  20. watson - the tracks and wheels rolled but then I glued the top run of tracks to the top of the middle road wheel. This gives the tracks the appearance of weight and natural sag for the pictures. Now they don't roll
  21. Very kind words people, thanks. I_R - I played the music Sorry for delayed reply, just started recovery from Halloween then into Day of the Dead then more this weekend. Favorite time of the year :D
  22. Happy Halloween Samhain :skull: :zombie: :skull: :skull: :zombie: :skull:
  23. There is a little talk and I think some figures from Warhammer on here. I haven't got into it on a build and paint level but I also appreciate the creative compositions. I don't play it either and know nothing about the realm. I've built a Gundam kit but have not seen an anime of the series. Just wasn't interested in the story but only in the models. If you find an affordable and variety selection retail outlet for the Warhammer kits, let me know
