  1. Noone has started the league yet - Chupa wanted to see what the rules were or could be, so I dropped 'em on him.
  2. Autodraft is convenient in the sense that you don't have to get people across North America together at one time in order to do it. The two times I played I was dealt some great players, but you also have the pick of the litter of every other person out there that isn't taken. The stats aren't to be worried about. You throw stats around dude.

  4. League settings below: (Re-posted to reflect disabled smilies setting)
  5. We did Yahoo Fantasy the other times. spectr was the commish in 2008. We did head-to-head, minimum innings pitched was 9 IP. As for drafting, we always did the autodraft. You could come back in and edit your team as necessary and get your pick from players available if you didn't like some of your selections. It was also 0-day waivers.
  6. I'm glad somebody brought up fantasy leagues because I was going to inquire about it myself. We had a 12oz one about four years ago that went pretty well. The year following we didn't have enough people. I'm in.
  7. At this point, I'm okay with Marquis. It is a low risk deal, and it can possibly work out now that we will have a good infield in place. A healthy Morneau is one of the best defensive 1Bs in the game. Casilla (assuming he gets the starting role) and Carroll can play well up the middle, and Valencia's D is improving at 3B. If he can keep the ball down and continue to have it beat into the ground, he'll be serving his purpose. The success of the rotation relies heavily on Baker and Liriano. We can count on Pavano and the #4 slot is still up in the air, assuming Marquis goes in the #5.
  8. :( :( :( I really hope this dude is fully recovered this season. Lost a lot of time between recurring symptoms and nagging hand pain which medical staff couldn't figure out until a doctor determined that it was a pinched nerve in his neck. Dude was on pace to have a monster season in 2010 until that fateful day in Toronto when he got the concussion in game #81. He had started all 81 games at that point, and was batting .345 with 18 HR, 56 RBI, and 25 doubles.
  9. I play beer league softball in Rosemount.
  10. That's the posting fee. Bidding is blind, so the team that posts the most for negotiation wins. Texas is retarded.
  11. And, really, the outfield should be LF - Willingham, Revere - CF, Span - RF. Gardenhire doesn't see it that way, though. And I really hope that somebody in the Twins' organization doesn't think that Revere will make a great lead-off guy in lieu of Span. Infield singles all day. It sure as hell isn't Terry Ryan. Span is a part of Ryan's legacy.
  12. Somebody has to be making the shit up about trying to trade Span in order to keep the door open for Cuddyer while still getting pitching. I think it is evidence enough that Cuddyer won't come back when we put the offer (and only offer) on the table almost NINE DAYS AGO and nothing came out of his camp. Just let the man fucking walk. I don't think public backlash will be much of an issue.
  13. I was listening to the radio when they said that there was an agreement on a contract. Then not much later MLBTR reads "Twins Agree To Sign Josh Willingham?" The question mark is kind of funny because they agreed in earnest I guess, but are still pursuing Cuddyer. But Joe Christensen tweeted not too long ago that the tentative deal is 3 years, $21m.
  14. And that would also mean we would have an every day RF. Which doesn't look like it is going to happen. Cuddyer unhappy with the negativity surrounding the team last year, has no confidence if we will be contenders in near future. Not looking good. Willingham is in pursuit by the Indians and M's. Rene Tosoni everyday RF baby, here we go. "QUICK - somebody get Jason Repko on the phone! NOW!"
  15. If Butera can turn it around, I'll be okay with him. He was tweeting in like late October/early November that he was already working out. If anything, I think Doumit will be spending a lot of time as a DH.
  16. Yeah, 25-man. And if we don't keep him there, he goes back and we get $25,000. With the Rule 5 mane, you never know. Johan Santana was a Rule 5.
  17. Slowey really has no value and it was driven down by himself and the Twins through 2010-2011. Good for us and for Slowey to go - fresh start, and a team that could be less likely to put up with his shit. So, this is his chance to get it together or get his marching papers out of the MLB (though I bet he would take a job in Japan or elsewhere internationally). We're hurting for pitching in the minors, so the acquisitions are understandable. I think the idea is to hopefully work on the kid we got from Colorado in the minors. As for the Rule 5 we got from ChiSox, he has to go on the 40-man roster, but I don't see him making the 25-man come season opener unless he really turns some heads in camp. If all else fails, we can send him back to Chicago and get our $50,000 back. These just look like a part of a contingency plan if we don't manage to sign/acquire an MLB-level starter. We're going to need people in the minors if we're going to bring up Swarzak, etc.
  18. I remember how excited I was after watching video on Tsuyoshi Nishioka. Fuck that.
  19. All they really have is Jered Weaver and, to an extent, Santana. I think they committed too much to CJ. Scott Kazmir keeps coming to mind. Mike Sciosa is old school, but he's a pitcher's manager. With the addition of Pujols, though, they could be a contender. And they are getting more than just Pujols in the deal, though. With him at 1B, Mark Trumbo will be a big trade chip. I think he'll have his sophomore slump as pitchers will probably have scouting on him, but he should have enough value to fetch prospects or MLB-ready talent. As for Kendry Morales, he looks like he is in trouble.
  20. I saved the stream as an .flv before that shit gets taken dowwwnn.
  21. I'm all for the realignment. We currently play in the Northwest, but it will be nice to play a lot of the teams in the central. We always have scrappy and entertaining games against the Blues, so it could be a nice rivalry. One thing I'll miss about the Northwest are the late starts for when we're on the west coast. I can get home from work, eat, and then head out to catch the game, if not the last two periods.
