  1. I think I'm 2000, but I won't see until I make this post.
  2. Panda Express orange chicken, out of pure desperation. I would not suggest it.
  3. I drafted Kemp for my fantasy team, and it is getting to the point at which I'm thinking about dropping his ass. And much to my chagrin he was surprise scratched from the lineup, so I'm missing an outfielder tonight. Not that it really makes a difference anyway, because he hitting like a bitch. Got durn house nagger

  5. BITCH GET IT TWERK IT GET A SPERM SHOWER ALL THIS POLO ON ME I GOT HORSE POWER (AHHH)
  6. I'm going to miss Revere, but he had a ton of value and there is a fucking logjam just waiting to happen in CF for us. Now that he's gone, Mastrioanni, Hicks, and Benson are supposedly going to be competing in spring training for the starting CF job. Benson had it tough last year, but maybe we will see if Hicks is the real deal and/or ready to play in the bigs. If not, I'm sure we'll see him in September with the two prospects we got from Philly and Washington. But personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Mastrioanni out there. As for Vance Worley, maybe Ralphs could weigh in on him for us. And we also signed Burton to a two-year deal with third year option. Good on us. And thank goodness Joe Blanton signed already. Did not want.
  7. I've been watching what I can of the A's and O's the last month or two. I have to say this: Oakland has some of the craziest fans out there in right field. And Grant Balfour is one of the most intimidating closers, IMO. Brian Wilson can take a back seat with the beard and odd behavior gimmicks. Dude blew away Hamilton, Beltre, AND Cruz to get the save last night. As for the O's (and this is somewhat related), I wonder if Bobby V is trying to spite Buck Showalter. Both were baseball TV analysts, and I'm guessing Bobby wanted to be like Buck and come back and have his own team. Bobby V turns out to be terrible, so what does he do? He keeps in a rookie SS (Iglesias) last night in the top of the tenth with two outs and runners on first and second when he has Mike Aviles on the bench. I think he is trying to make it as easy as possible for the Yankees to clinch the division champion spot. I saw something yesterday about O's management being upset that he is running out a bunch of nobodies. Loved to see Lew Ford back in a MLB uniform - cult hero here in MN. Chris Davis - wow. Adam Jones - wow. And Mark Reynolds basically saved his career considering how he's improved his approach at the plate and fielding. And Nate McLouth was on his way out until he came back around. Great stories this year.
  8. My boy Freddie Freeman is back...but with some specs on. Still hit a homer with that fucking short, but QUICK swing of his. Made some nice picks at first, too. I love the Twins and all, but being born in Atlanta, the Braves are my first love. And Freddie will be a beast in years to come, a la Fred McGriff. What is with the Braves players needing glasses? Two or three seasons ago Brian McCann was having vision problems and he got specs, too.
  9. Went to the Twins game today. Morneau and Span both hit long bombs, but you can always count on the day's starting pitcher to give up four runs in one inning. Brian Dozier is also on a roll with some poor play at SS - double-play ball through the legs. Good times, though. Drank a lot of beer, had a Cuban sandwich (but the bread was wrong wrong wrong), got rained on, the works...
  10. AHHHHH 8-23!!!! TWINS ON PACE TO WIN...42 GAMES! If you ask me, I think all training/medical and coaching staff are going to get blown the fuck out by season's end if this keeps up. The organization really needs to go outside for new blood if it comes down to that.
  11. Liriano: 5 earned runs in each of his four starts this season. Man, fuck that.
  12. Kind of shocked to see Humber got the perfect game - Twins had him for a bit from the Mets in the Johan Santana trade. So, that's two PGs in three years for the ChiSox. Impressive for the organization, but I wouldn't go as far as saying Humber is a dominant pitcher (though it looks like he is starting to get it together since joining the south side). It is something that just happens, hence why it is so rare. Remember Armando Galarraga when he lost the last out of his perfect game two years ago to a bad call by Jim Joyce? Look where he is now. Released by the Orioles. Back to Twins: Luke Hughes DFA'd last week - Oakland just claimed him off of waivers today. Good luck to the dude/bloke - he'll be playing among two other Aussies Balfour and some other dude just claimed. Losing 5-2 to the Rays. I know they're a good team, but Francisco Liriano was on the mound. Looked alright through two innings and then it just came apart. Now Swarzak is on long relief when he started a few days ago in NY, so I guess that means Nick Blackburn is being slotted back into the rotation. Something has to be done about Liriano. I'd be crazy to say we should look into Roy Oswalt, but I wonder if Terry Ryan is checking out that situation. I think he is probably looking at waivers for starting pitchers who were DFA'd without options. We're going to keep dropping games if this goes on.
  13. Despite the series split, I can say that I'm becoming more impressed with the Twins thus far in comparison to last year's woes. Fielding up the middle is worlds better. Morneau, Mauer, Willingham, and Span are hitting. Doumit, Carroll, Valencia, and Casilla (somewhat) are starting to click. Just need Parmelee to start clicking, too. Now, about the pitching. I just think Swarzak had a bad game and had to get the Yankees stadium jitters out - fastball was looking pretty flat, though. Same goes for Marquis, but it is hard to say when he will level out, if ever. He seemed to settle down after his first inning. Pavano was solid in his game. Yet to say how Hendriks will fair. Hopefully Blackburn will be good to go. I have just about seen enough of Liriano - he needs to get traded.
  14. Phil Hughes on the mound for the Yankees tonight; we could have another good opportunity for a win tonight for a 3-1 series. Against NYY. Never thought that would happen. Speaking of another Hughes - Luke DFA'd, but out of options so he needs to pass through waivers. I'm thinking he will be picked up by another team pretty soon. The streets of Minneapolis will flood with tears of all his female fans.
  15. I didn't catch the at-bat, but that kid has a nice swing. He and Freeman are downright scary, giant children. Both could have good years, but like you said, as long as Heyward stays healthy.
  16. Also, copped that MLB TV. And it is the shit.
  17. Apparently all of the Twins management brass were watching Plouffe in that game - Gardenhire, Ryan, St. Peter. It was moreso a rehab deal for him after straining a hammy last week. I think he is pretty much a lock to break camp and they are just trying to assess if they would need to retroactively place him on the DL before the season. Word is that Burroughs and Butera are the two up in the air for the 25th spot - obviously hoping for the former. But if Morneau is going to be a DH, then no need for Butera. Great defensive catcher, but you don't need an extra plus he gives us nothing off of the bench. Morneau went 3-for-3 with a homer and 5 RBI Hughes homered, too. Hughes has 5 HR and 18 RBI for Spring Training, and if you recall, he was killing the ball last spring. Of course he was borderline mediocre when he was with the major league club, though.
  18. Good to hear you're coming back. Were you in CO? The weather is unseasonably nice right now. I only threw Burroughs in the mix because the organization is very high on him (no pun). Parmelee will be a 1B guy, since it looks like the Twins are seriously considering making Justin the DH. I don't necessarily agree with it, but whatever keeps his head from knocking around I guess. The guy is an elite defender.
  19. I'm liking how this team will probably shape up. * - denotes platoon/secondary role C Doumit, Mauer 1B Morneau*, Mauer*, Parmelee 2B Casilla SS Carroll 3B Valencia DH Morneau, Doumit* LF Willingham CF Span RF Plouffe, Revere, Doumit*, Parmelee* SP1 Pavano SP2 Liriano SP3 Baker (DL?) SP4 Blackburn SP5 Marquis RP Perkins Capps Maloney Deunsing Swarzak Waldrop Manship Others to consider (two to make team to complete 25-man roster, three if Baker starts on DL) Hughes - all IF positions (likely) Burroughs - 3B, middle IF (getting a long look, great defense, little offensive power) Butera - C (god, no) Dozier - middle IF (AA, org. wants him in starting role, likely to start in AAA) Benson - OF (needs more seasoning at plate, plus speed, probably in AAA) Burnett - RP (looks horrible this spring, possible option as an extra arm if Baker is on DL) We have more versatile players than we know what to do with.
  20. I didn't go to any games last year, but I plan on changing that this season now that I'm able to have some spare money around. I'm pretty excited, some of the guys are doing pretty well in spring and look like they're ready to go.
