  1. i wasn't really suggesting that waiting in a long line just to ring a bell was a good idea. its the only thing that i can think of that is unique to jp other than that what really is there to do anywhere on new years that is any different from any other day of the week?
  2. go to a temple wait in line and pull a bell 108 they dont really do anything like NY times square or anything. i think i remember going to a club in yokohama one year i got drunk, didnt get lucky and went to sleep in front of a closed gas station. i'm pretty cool like that. its not cold in tokyo or osaka 35-40 degrees F hokkaido is a different story however maybe go to nagano and do some winter sports??.
  3. the secret in their eyes this is really good. pretty close to a perfect movie
  4. bell's 25th anniversary ale i'm glad i took a gamble and got 2 x 6 packs because they were gone the next day. thank goodness they laid off the sucrose because i'm loving this right now and already planning on saving a few. bells oarsman ale did not like this, they describe it as tart i describe it as sour and especially after finishing a beer with hops this mistakenly give you the impression that its rancid. i wouldnt buy it again. my girl however liked it, which should tell you that it must have a lot of fruit in it. so basically hidden fruit beer with out the name. tyranena hop whore wow very impressed by this. some of their stuff is hit or miss but recently more hit. definitely a brewery to keep an eye on. definite session beer
  5. MEETING OF STYLES 2010 i have to resize the others....
  6. i heard that sam adams glass cost them alot of money to perfect i got one from my liquor store guy. definitely my favorite glass to drink out of
  7. haha i was going to say something much worse than that but i think he gets the point
  8. hey chupa thanks for the milk stout recommendation that was good i had that left hand 400 pound monkey much better than the oktoberfest but still had that awful aftertaste that i just cant put my finger on. so far i have been drinking a lot of the 1.victory 2.great lakes 3.bells oktoberfest with victory being the best.
  9. i saw it opening night and expected over the top awesome. shit i don't even go to the movies so maybe i was over anticipating this. but besides a few parts i was pretty bored.
  10. Re: Great Pictures~ walker evans shohei tomatsu
  11. thanks I'll give left hand stuff another try. currently they have that 400 pound monkey? thoughts on that one? i'll ask him to get the milk stout i looked up that ithica's flower power, it looks like a NY brew, very few east coast beers get to the midwest, same with alot of cali stuff.
  12. i had the left handed oktoberfest and hated it. left a bad taste in my mouth. there are others that i haven't tried but i'm a bit leary. i've been drinking alot of victory stuff lately. the prima pils is damn good. i can't get enough hops. to the point where things that don't have hops taste weird to me. i always have to start out on low hops beers and work my way up throughout the night.
  13. dfh pumpkin is my favorite as well simply because they are the only ones to up the alcohol content most pumpkin brews are tasty but 4-5 % alcohol is the down point to me
  14. i think i remember the expedition ale having too much molasses
