yes, the system just allocated invites to those that met the criteria. in order to qualify for invites a user must have a minimum of 1000 posts. further every ____ posts = ____ invites. also ____ invites are deducted from your stash for every week of inactivity. invites expire after 30 days. you can access your invites by going to the USER CP. the last menu item in the left column (bottom left) is for INVITES. from there it'll list how many invites you have, how many invites are pending (assuming you sent someone an invite), as well as a short form which is how you invite someone. again, if you don't meet the criteria you won't have any invites in your account.

matter of fact i been in there a lot lately trying to squash all the business that seems to have sprouted up in there. kids peddling markers and other stuff is not only againt the rules, it actually hurts this site. we depend on sales at http://www.fourthehardway.com and now ad sales to keep this site alive and growing. kids riding our popularity to make a buck is not only lame, but definitely holds back progress. ultimately it coulod also be detrimental enough that i might just start putting the money i spend on this place each month towards a house instead. if you catch anyone soliciting, do everyone a favor and hit the report button under the post.

nope. the magazine was a combination of college project and me trying to get other mags to step up their game so i could have something better to read. it was a bluff, i actually never planned to do a second issue. as far as the board, i just was too laazy to figure out IRC or dig through the alt.graffiti discussions so i started a board up. i always enjoyed the idea of a gathering place for writers, so it made sense.

anyone else notice the board is about to break 3.5 million posts? sucks that i used to delete old posts on the original boards.

since i've been getting bombarded with invite requests and kids asking whats up, i figure i'll just start a thread about it. officially 12ozProphet (or at least the forum), is invite only. this means, not every clown (or cop) can register for an account and participate. in order to join, you must have an invite. invites are given out automatically to users based on their activity. this hapens on a weekly basis where our system automatically calcultes and assigns invites to members. each invite lasts 30 days until it expires and you're free to do as you please with them. that means you can give them away, trade them, or sell them, ignore them - your choice. besides members having invites to give out, admins can also give out invites. further any orders placed on 4thw will be given an invite by request. lastly, invites will be offered to people posting interesting stuff in response to blog comments on the home page - http://www.12ozprophet.com since it hasn't been a full week since the system was started, invites havent been given away to the general community. i suggest that you login into the USER CP and make sure your email address is correct to make sure you have no problems with your accounts or with our invite system.

kudos to anyone that can remember what three writers had galleries on the very first 12oz site.

the green on black layout preceedes the internet archive i believe. that was somewhere around 1998 if i remember correctly. or at least not too much longer then that.
