Cracksmoka Posted July 14, 2010 Share Posted July 14, 2010 i dont see where anyone compared anything but the biggest difference between now and then is the overabundance of wack ass writers in this city now. very little talent out there as compared to the 80s/90s and it also seems like very few people want to progress. okay, so u can tag your name but can u do straights, throws, or pieces? do u even try? too many cats feel like if they can tag thats all they need to do. shit is wack. everything in life is about progression so why shouldnt graff be? and keep in mind, the most famous writers in graffiti history (seen, cap, etc) became famous in the 80's by showing their faces so thats nothing new. in fact, i'd venture to say graff was extremely more commercial back then than it is now. and the buff, people forget that busted writers as well as regular employees of the network were out there buffing EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND. the buff was just as bad back then as it is now. I wouldn't try to challenge all these kids to much... most of em are already challenged to begin with. You gotta crawl before you walk, and if tagging is crawling most of these people better put on a hockey helmet before they even attempt to get up to all fours. Buff is on a lull now, but you couldn't have been paying attention if you think it was worse in the 80s than it was in the 2000s... NIGHT AND DAY. Ill give you that there weren't as many people writing so the numbers game came into affect on how the buff could get so far ahead, but it was still nowhere near. I dont know why im posting on the internet again... :nope: The real reason i wanted to post was to say that wing with the tags is BONKERS. Holler if your comin off that!
