Mainter
Mainter- Does that ISO install the same as the last one? And, does it have the added apps (Winrar, Nero, Opera 9.0) on it, or are those part of another package? Thanks again. i have not installed it or used it myself yet This installation allows any Windows Genuine Advantage programs (like Internet Explorer 7 Beta) to be installed, it will pass the WGA check, thanks to Rahul from SRN finding this special "student" edition that allows the same installation to be used on many computers. This edition of TinyXP includes SATA drivers. The WINDOWS folder for this installation only uses 390Mb of hard disk space, the normal full install of XP Professional takes up 1100Mb of space. This edition includes drivers totalling 8.32Mb of the 191Mb size of the ISO. The actual size for Windows on its own on the ISO image is roughly 170Mb. The included drivers are all integrated so that your SATA hard drive, motherboard chipset and LAN card will be working on installation. Driver packs used are Bashrat the Sneaky's driver packs, which are finally a solution to unattended SATA problems that many people seem to have. Only install this operating system onto a freshly formatted partition or hard disk. It is not possible to upgrade, because the option (44Mb) has been removed. To install this unattended version, simply boot from the CD and format the drive or partition you want to install to, then just sit back and wait 8 minutes and the installation takes care of itself. No 'Product Key' is needed. --------------------------------------------------------------- If you want a version of this same install, but without these items... shai
Yeah, I think it's not gonna be a problem. TPB has the following bundled in their ISO (which is 696 MB, which is why I asked you if it was the full version)- Optional Manual Installs in the "Software" folder on the CD If you click inside the folders in "Software", all you need to do in each case is double click "install.cmd" to install the program. This will put a shortcut in Quick Launch near the start button and also, a shortcut on your Start Menu. SUR X3
Yeah I have the original disk, but I want to make sure it's as clean as can be.
johnny ballbags
im not sure if you have to change the boot sequence or if it will happen automatically, but im pretty sure thats as complicated as its gonna get... it walks you through it, you might need the cd key serial thing too... i dotn know if wiping it clean of antyhign is neccesarry.. it should just erase the previous copy during reinstall unless you tell it to do otherwise.... i would wait to here from mainter, casek, or shai just to be sure though... defyoner
put disc in, reboot computer. if it asks you to boot off CD say yes.. format your hard drive, create new partition, install windows.
defyoner
if it doesnt ask to boot off disk.. then you have to go into your bios and set up your boot priority.

SUR X3
Well it's booting off disk, I just know that the usual windows way of doing anything isn't quite as good as it could be... So just so I'm clear. Insert disk. Boot off disk. Choose "set up windows XP now. Where I come to a screen that asks about existing partitions. There are 2 -" Partition1 (EISA Utilities) 7170 MB C: Partition2 (NTFS) 88224 MB Should I delete these before I install?
defyoner
yea if you want to start 100% fresh. then delete the existing partitions and create a new one.. you can create 2.. one for all your windows files. and one for everything else.. just to keep shit organized. Mainter
yes delete C: make sure you have everything backed up before you press it cause it will be gone (if you dont have the right tools that is)

SUR X3
There is really no way for me to back up my files. It won't go into windows at all. I don't have the tools to remove my hard drive and back it up. And I really have nothing I'm worried about losing. Mostly some movies I had yet to burn and some pictures I hadn't saved online yet. And some porn. Nothing really that I can't replace. So deleted these partitions and reinstall. Will do.
