nice work ST. keeping the quality!

virtual DJ is a decent app for basic mixing.

Mixmeister (pro or studio) is also pretty good.

I used mixmeister studio to make my 'rumpuncher' latin mixer.

It's pretty basic to learn, but you can really get into the mixes and

tweak things to work perfectly. You'll get way more mileage out of

something like Acid or Live if you're doing involved mashups with

accepelas and remixes, but just track to track mixing, mixmeister is great.

OK, full version of Mixmeister 6 Pro is GO! (Thanks, Limewire.)

I had 7000 tracks for it to scan for beatmatching information....which was slightly annoying, but it might prove to be well worth it. Took all night...I used the demo, and all the other DJ programs that I used tried to emulate a live mixer, which doesn't do much good if you can't cue in a seperate channel, you know?

This setup (MM6) looks really cool, though, and makes me think that computer DJ technology has come a long way.

Virtual DJ slowed my comp down...the graphics were probably the reason. The interface was neat, but it reminded me of a DJ video game.

tips:

turn off the video feature.

set the source folder to something with just a few tracks in it.

If you want to cue a live mix, you need the 'pro' version of MM

or go with traktor (version 3 is newer than I know) because

you can set one line on your sound card to be a cue line.

^^ Ey Shai, feel like being generous? you know a lil after christmas program sharing? Send me a PM if your up for it.

I just downloaded the bpm analyzer by mixmeister, its awesome. I'm analyzing all the songs and it's takin a while, but oh well.

Im using Audacity to do all my mixing and whatnot. Its sorta shitty, but whatever it will suffice so long as it has to...

and when did baltimore become the new music hotspot?

* edit:

I'm so hyped on what I'm heard from the Baile Funk genre,

that I almost made a thread about it for the rest of ch.zero.

But on second thought, forget them, this is our thing, I'm not sharing.

I didn't know Jaydee was from Baltimore...I read some stuff about Baltimore club recently, but I can't find any good mixes or tracks on slsk. Symbols?

Oh, does anyone have any go-go they want to share? I'm looking for old Chuck Brown, but at this point I'd appreciate anything.

A few things-

I'm slowly getting the hang of MM6, and hopefully will have something to share soon. I have to thank Rumpuncher for his help, he probably saved me a lot of time with figuring this thing out.

Also, I'm looking for some advice on how to create Winamp skins and plugins. I think I have an idea that could work out well for some of us but for now I have to keep it to myself (yes, it's THAT good, I hope). The thing is, I know nothing about programming...I have the SDK folder that has all the sample code, I just don't know what any of it does yet.

Also, I found a new free service called Foldershare that may be a way for Mixtrader to have its own p2p network. Go here to get signed up...my idea is to start a mix library for Mixtrader without the limitations of normal file transfer services such as how big the file is or how many times it can be downloaded/shared, plus I haven't found any other file transfer services that are based on the p2p concept. The catch is that this will have to be a cooperative effort- from what I gathered from their website, each one of us would have to be registered as contributors for this to work and we would be responsible for maintaining our shared files, but that's not a big deal if you think about it...also, we would all have to be involved with setting it up, of course. I think this has a lot of potential, and if we put some effort into it, I think we could all come out ahead. I've wanted to do something like this for a long time, and I'm sure I'm not the only one here who could make full use of this.

Okay, I'm done talking about it...let's do this.

Haven't heard a go go mix

matter fact i haven't even come across a go-go track online ever.

You gotta do some research with that one.

and since i'm superduper lazy and i don't feel ike posting the

same balitmore mixes here's two different short one's

I also have ghettotech and booty house mixes but I think they

take a hardcore fan of the music to enjoy it. Sort of like Acid house.

Damn i'm a music nerd.

curtis vodka - what it dew megamix

the mix doesn't really deviate from one beat but I liked it.

I'm simple.

spankrock - viola! track 3 out of 4

The Viola! mixtape is nuts.

...now back to my dave taylor/switch essential mix, i'm still on dudes nuts.

I found some Junkyard Band and Chuck Brown"s "Bustin' Loose" (Nelly used the groove from this) on slsk,,,I figured it was worth a shot.

Thanks for the mixes, too...fuck, I'm a lazy music nerd too.

Here's what I'll do- I already have an account set up, so I'm gonna use it for my mixes anyway (whenever I get around to that :heated:) and I'll PM some of the folks here and see if I can drum up some interest.

I agree with you as far as thow useful it would be if I was doing it by myself, but if I could get five people in on it I think it would make it all worthwhile.

It's funny, I was thinking about the people who don't come in here often and miss out on all the goodies. The fact that you have to install the satellite might seem inconvenient at first, but I'm curious..could we start a p2p network, and sustain it? That's what I'm aiming to do...and it doesn't have to be limited to mixes, either. I'm looking at the bigger picture...ANYTHING you could imagine that can be put into a folder or file will be there for the taking as long as it stays on the hard drive it originated from. I'm sure you get my drift...

I'm going to use yousendit for now, until I can get a couple people involved. Once it catches on, we'll see how well it works. I don't see why it can't be used alongside with yousendit- it's just another way to do what everyone's been doing all along.

Tonight may be My Debut Night. If my ISP holds out...it's been funky lately. Not the good funky, either. Corny white girl funky.

I thought about it, Punch, and you're right...I think Foldershare is a good service, but it's gonna take a lot more work than I thought...still, if anyone wants to try this out, PM me and we'll see how it goes. It's gonna take at least three people to make it fly.
