Sorry for being a total idiot i though i did know a little about there being a point where oil will peak, but i feel much better now you have corrected every thing i've ever watched and read over the last 25 years. So what are we talking of like a ball park figure 2000 or more years at the current rate of consumption???

Oil will/has peaked 2011, the world still has enough "proven" reserves to provide 40 years of consumption at current rates. It's quite a simple theory and one that any beer drinker understands. The glass starts full and ends empty and the faster you drink it the quicker it's gone. I'll be should be dead before then so good luck you kids your in for a rough ride :)
