  1. Dearest Bob,

How I love you so. Your witty comebacks and criticism. Your enlightened political views. Your way of ever so subtly, yet clearly, framing the issue so Dawood has a chance to respond. How I would love to spend endless hours debating the intersection of politics and religion with you.

    Yours Truly

    M.W.

Look jackass, you made your point in the first post. You asked a "question" that does not lend itself to an answer. If you're trying to prove that Dawood cannot answer it, I'll do it for you. Dawood can't answer that question, no one can answer that question. It's what they call a rhetorical question. You've proven your point, you've made your statement, move on. If you are asking "how is it that Muslim people can protest the cartoons but not rise up against factions of that religion that behead and mistreat women," that is a legitimate question. But as you've framed it now your zealotry is patently obvious. Thank you for your 2 cents, we're glad you too an e-stand.

  2. I've been writing about the cartoons for my personal online journal or "blog."

brusselsjournal.com and bbc.co.uk both have some stuff. A lot of people are blogging it too...

Oh, the pig cartoon as well as the sodomy stuff were not published in any of the European papers. They were added by radicals for political reasons, in order to fuel the fire...

  3. And Poof! Watch as the state prosecutor gets the sentence changed on appeal. It's great that the judge can make a political statement like this.

Politicians do this all the time. Make legislation, knowing that it is going to get severly limited or thrown out by the courts. Kudos.

By the way, rehabilitation is the biggest crock of...

    I agree. Alot....

bitch is hot, i dont care what anyone thinks.

I was just thinking same thing...

  5. I am still up this way. I remember you telling me about Melrose, I'll probably head out there tomorrow afternoon and look into that. I lost my cellphone and hence your number. Could you PM it to me?

I'm not using the tips for "cool tags" I have a huge canvas like 4' by 6' and I need something to cover a lot of space cleanly. Plus I haven't tagged graffiti on anything since say November of 2004, so I figure the fats will give me a little leeway with the lines.

  6. I knew there was something wrong with that bitch giving out shoes at the border. Sneaky ass terrorist bitch.

I can only imagine a mexican terror attack. Ahhh the jokes that could be made.

Basically they have said that 5 Mexican guys will be travelling through Southern California for the next few days. This narrows it down to 5 out of 436,000,000. Fucking bang-up job you're doing.

  7. I've been following the cartoon thing pretty closely because it relates to two issues I hold near and dear to my heart: 1) the Middle East, and; 2) the First Amendment.

To clear up some factual matters:

    1) Flag Burning is not illegal in the United States, it has been decided that Flag Burning is protected as "expressive conduct" under the First Amendment.

    2) The Cartoons came about because an author wanted to create a book on the life of the Prophet, and couldn't get anyone to draw pictures for it.

    3) The Danish Paper's published the pictures to test their rights to free speech. In America our First Amendment rights are relatively well settled, but in other countries they are still testing the limits of their rights.

    4) The original cartoons (those shown above) were all that were published in the Danish paper. But they were distributed in the Arab world with three additional cartoons depicting the Prophet with the face of a pig, being sodomized, etc.

    5) There was originally a boycott of Danish products, and eventually riots of Danish embassies. (Nobody is fighting against the US, at least not yet.)

To chastize the small children on the forum: People who post homemade cartoons are idiots. You're what's wrong with America's future. Shouldn't you be at your high-school basketball game or something.

Whether you agree with the cartoons being produced and published is one matter, whether you think that the newspapers should have a right to publish them is something entirely different. In my personal opinion people should be left to their own devices. If they want to draw the Prophet, let them draw him. It is between themselves, their government, and the higher power in which they believe. That means that I think that they should have the right to draw the pictures, and in turn the newspapers to publish them. On the other had, I think they're in bad taste. I think they show a lack of respect for other cultures, and I think it was a pretty stupid move politically. It's basically the same stance I have on flag burning. I'd never burn a flag, I don't agree with burning flags. But if you want to burn a flag, so be it.

However, I do think that many people are overreacting to the cartoons themselves. While they were in bad taste and offensive, I don't believe that is a reason to burn buildings and declare death fatwas against their creators. There are tons of religious cartoons, jokes, etc. that go unpunished. Consider the Christian jokes. I remember a cartoon posted here with a picture of Jesus masturbating entitled "Jesus is Cuming." I found that offensive, it probably violates a central tenet of Christianity. But I didn't declare anything against anyone. I didn't burn anything down. The anger is understandable, don't get me wrong. But, as the Christians say, there are times when it is better to turn the other cheek.

I also think that the US should not be involved. I think it goes against their entire "get tough on terror" policy to placate the Muslim countries. Whether or not I agree with their policy is a separate issue. I just think when someone is burning something, we should be taking a tougher line. At least in this country the cartoons would be entirely protected, somebody needs to say that.

  8. It is 4 days until Valentine's day. I am working on a painting for my girlfriend. I don't have any "graffiti" spray nozzles. I was curious if you know where I could get some nearby. Or maybe if you had some I could buy...

  9. I fucking hate spiders...

I caught this spider the other day in a glass to take it outside because I don't believe in killing it. It looked kind of funny, like a funny shape and it was pitch black. I held a flashlight up to the glass and it stood up. It turned out to be a black widow. I immediately killed it with raid and a shoe, but I felt bad.

My fridge is always empty. I don't really get with full fridges. There is one stage where the fridge is full enough so that you have something to eat, but it's not stacked in layers. That's cool. When you get to layers and shit stacked on top of each other, it's too much...

so basically, you think it's okay for someone to come to america, just to juice tax dollars? you condone ANY one person or group of people to just come here, and take money, while doing nothing. because thats' my beef with them, yeah but no matter what you are in honesty, unless you're a native to the continent, you're just as much of an immigrant. and micronesia's always been ghetto. but if you come to america to 'better your life' big ups. ... but when you come here, to go on welfare and juice tax dollars. you're a fuckin clown shoe. i'm a racist?
