  1. Tape the body of that can with painter's tape and clean those ends with a wire brush, man.

Is there a link to that Fresh Paint? Or the crazy russian looking cans?
  3. I like those mid-90's Fashion Satin Walmart cans. I've been seeing a lot lately.
  4. Rollin' on Lincoln! I bet that look great from the street.
  5. I've also been having a lot of problems watching clips on Vimeo for the past month or so. Very choppy.

I think it's pretty simple. You're almost always going to have coverage/opacity problems with yellows, oranges and yellow greens. Earth tones will always be solid (unless the brand sucks overall), and pastel tones will usually be pretty strong. That being said, i have yet to find a weak MTN 94 color. Even the yellows are good. Montana Blackline Power Yellow and Kicking Yellow are also much better than I expected.

Do the Ironlak reds and purples still bleed through white and other light colors? I'll start using it again once that gets fixed. Drives me crazy. The donuts on that Newton Street look a bit like Sabotaz.

Anyone know anything about this paint? Or these? I think they're for the Russian market, but maybe someone knows more.
  9. I believe most paint still does have Xylene, as well as Toluene. Krylon and Rusto certainly do. As far as I know, the only paints that don't have xylene are some of the new nitro/acrylic formulas coming out of Europe, like MTN 94 and supposedly the reformulated German Montana stuff. I'd also heard that Ironlak and the other Chinese brands are xylene free, but still contain some toluene. As far as lead goes, I don't think it's a bit issue unless you're exposed for a prolonged period of time, or it's in massive quantities. When I was working as a commercial painter, my lead levels were always anywhere from 15-35, and that with all the protective gear. If you're just spraying one can of paint for a fill one time, you're not going to die. If you do it every week, then it might become a problem.
  10. Your bike looks like shit, bro.

What's a NS flat spray valve system?
  12. Those do look like longboard trucks to me. I've never seen standard trucks with a kingpin like that, not even on 80's boards.
  13. That tip on that nubuk-wildleder spray (17b?) is a really good one. If it's not clogged, try using it. i think you'll enjoy. Black Baron is having a blast mixing up those colors. He's just going for it!

We don't get that Bombers Best here in the states, but it looks interesting.
  15. No, it's normal size. He just uses a ladder.

It's so overpriced. I'd pay $6 for it, tops.

Great interview. Molotow is still my favorite paint, and I can't wait to try out the new ones!

The paint is more budget than Ironlak? Do all the colors bleed through white, not just purples and reds?
  19. That's my favorite from you, dood!
  20. Muska was never the man. As a 34 year old, I was old enough to know he was a clown back then, too. I think he had about 2 months worth of skating when he first popped on the scene to impress me. Everything after that was the same three tricks and a whole lot of retarded outfits.
  21. That 25% more Rusto is a nice find. I've only seen 2-3 of those.
  22. Not very old, but I'd like to get ahold of a Montana Basic can. I'd prefer full, but empty or used is ok, too. They changed the packaging to "white line", and I'd like one from before the packaging switch.
  23. Well, the problem i always seem to find is that the old Krylon either has no pressure, or the seal on the valve has worn out. I always pop a NY Thin or german skinny on it and keep it on until it clogs, but even then that doesn't always help. I've got two nearly full cans of Baby Blue and a Regal that I can't bear to throw away, but the valve is shot. The only solution I've found is cutting a bit off a rubber glove and making an artificial seal for the cap. It only really works for mixing into other cans, because once you release the cap after the first spray, the seal is ruined. With Rusto, 75% of the time the can is stopped up, probably the diptube jammed with solids caked on the bottom. I remember getting a few cans of Adobe together to fill an E2E, and I had to go through all my cans, plus my homies' supply to find 8 that worked. I just used a reasonably new can of Smoke Grey today that kept jamming up on me so I'd have to take the rusto fat off every half a minute, reseat it and have it work for another 30 seconds. After 15-16 years of painting, I've kinda lost patience with finicky cans. That being said, I've had a lot of problems with a couple of the chinese brands. I've given up on Ironlak entirely. I appreciate the lower cost and that it's owned by real writers, but I'll wait until they've worked out all the bugs. Evolve can be a bit of a pain with thin caps too, not wanting to spray. I think the valve gasket is a little tight and not really responsive. I'm actually finding most of my collecting joy these days from accumulating the different variations in "graffiti" branded paint. I've got a couple of the old German Montana cans from when they were copying the Spanish can style, as well as a couple of their earliest original designs. The various iterations of can designs are also interesting to me. German Montana recently switched up their packaging design, so I've been hunting down and saving clean cans with the old packaging. They're too expensive not to use, so I cover them up with blue painters tape before using so they're nice and clean on the shelf as empties.
  24. I already used it all up, save a crate of Rusto Sandstone that I'm saving for a rainy day. I've got a couple scraps of Krylon Avocado, Bistro and Pastel Yellow that I use here and there. Otherwise, I use what i can get in the store, and I'm not feeling the female tips up here in the high altitude. Why do I feel like I need to apologize for using boutique paint? That's ridiculous.
