Utah_Bench
Is this art form designed and painted to be read by only people who are versed in Train art? I have trouble reading most of the art I see like the last one in this post. The colors and design are killer and that's why I like to photograph it but, most of the writers names are lost on me. Can anyone please translate the last art posted here for me?
theprotester
Looks like future and ziloe
theprotester
Also it's interesting that your eye is trained for aesthetics not letters, and that translates well to having a keen eye for good graffiti in many cases. I'm enjoying you posting. Cheers TheP
Utah_Bench
Thanks theprotester I do enjoy photographing the art form and posting here. I don't know what it is but I can spot color combinations, forms and shapes, and what I believe works or doesn't from a mile away but... just can't seem to read the letters and form them into words. theprotester
To be fair a lot is barely legible. That future is cool but the connections don't lend it to readability. Keep flickin'!

Utah_Bench
A few more flicks from today. Note that I was not the only one watching the rails today, there was a red tail hawk sitting on a pole hunting on the side of the tracks. Utah_Bench
I'm sure you can tell but I was shooting from a distance today and with haze but, the last one I just had to have...

Utah_Bench
How many writers would it take normally do an end to end like this one?
One Man Banned
Great flix again. Nice hawk, looks to be a juvenile. On the E2E one person could easily do that or even a whole car but it looks like 2-3 people did that one. BTW, you're carrying on a nice tradition for your state, used to be 1-2 graf mags that came out of UT in the day that included some bench action. Utah_Bench
Thanks for the info One Man Banned I only photograph the art and don't really know much about how it's done or the meaning behind the art itself, mine is a purely artistic interest at this time. I'm a Utah transplant and not a native (or Mormon) and have "only" live here for the past 16 years. I can see why there is a tradition of benching here with this being a major train hub for the Midwest.
Utah_Bench
Only got a couple flicks today and they were during a snow storm, I love the last one posted here which is a graffiti sign of the times IMHO when a writer writes....graffiti lives matter.

Utah_Bench
DyS$kysE, benching is watching for and photographing train graffiti, as in sitting on a bench and watching it go by.
