Benching in Utah 2017

I tend to shoot panels if I'm at a distance to give a closer look at the piece, if I'm up against the freights like walking a line, or if there are elements of the background that might reveal something I don't want known, like a location specific. Otherwise context matters, especially since freights are mobile and the context changes. I'm used to seeing grain mills/silos in the Midwest and think it's cool you included that in the shot up above. You also have to figure that a guy who rocked a freight in the snow of Canada might like to see that freight caught in opposite conditions, like the desert of New Mexico for example. People also seem to like having their pieces caught on a high RR bridge so you see the train and bridge against the sky. Anyhow, yes, context matters.

Man has my bench lacked a view lately, they have done a ton of work on the yard itself so there were no car parked there for a couple of weeks. When cars were there they were mostly flats with no art. I did get a couple today and one type I've never seen before. I'm sure you've seen a locomotive that's been hit before but it's a first for me. Looks like the Graffiti either wasn't finished or the RR is in the process of removing it but either way it looks faded. Seems pretty ballsy to hit an engine, and over the Red, White and Blue no less but, it sure take some nerve I'm guessing.

Generally pretty stupid move. Always seemed more of a W Coast thing as I've seen a bunch of the UPs hit like that. There have been one or two known people who have done it, don't know if that was youthful ignorance, not giving a fuck, or maybe catching something that was going to go to scrap or repair.

I was thinking hitting a engine was probably not the smartest move because it would bring a lot of unwanted attention to the graffiti world and the RR would feel the need to fix it and that would cost money. Theprotester, thanks I'm glad I had a few to post hopefully things will pick-up now the the yard work is finished.

My bench is still kinda sparse but I did get a couple nice ones and another engine that has been hit but, it was really far away. Can anyone enplane the Tom and Jerry one, what is GIS FSC MAOS? I also like the one with what looks like a tank, any insight on that one?

That's Gigs and Maos with the crew initials in the middle with a nice Tom & Jerry to tie it together.

The tank is cool and reminds me of an older writer Posh who would do these funky tanks and robots or armored dudes or whatever, was hoping @Brickos might see some of him and post it sometime (Vox too please).

Of everything you caught there to me the King piece is what's up. You should see plenty of him your way, old school writer who does consistently sharp clean pieces that include a character like 90% of the time.

Cool post.
