shai
shai you going to be at that 1234go records 10 year anniversary thing next month? Are you talking about the one at the Oakland Metro? If so, it depends on whether I'm in town or not and if the Street Eaters have a list I can get on. What about you?

shai
I got a hold of him tonight and I'm pretty sure I'm going. I didn't know The Bananas were on the lineup, which definitely increases the odds of me being there.

shai
Blew off seeing Calvin Johnson tonight at a comic book store in favor of taking a nap...old age sucks. But he's coming back on the 8th, so it looks like I'll have time to rest up. I'm thinking of starting an indie/experimental/New Weird America thread. Not sure how it will go, but a lot of what I listen to doesn't really fit here.

HOPE NOT
Truth be told...I didn't recognize a lotta the bands mentioned here...having been outta the garage/psych/surf/trash loop for a minute... Nobunny, Bananas...Guru Guru. New to me... Until gettin' sucked into that 'social network' last year...had NO clue that there was even a "garage scene" these days. (scene=sounds so corny, ha.) Some otha same 80s bands still around too...Lyres, Cynics, Fuzztones, Morlocks, et al. Don't know who died 1st, me or the 'scene'...def ME. The Neil Young post I added cause (iloveboxcars?) said ok to go outside constraints of thread. Hadn't listened to him in friggin decades. No turntable. Hope UDM. IDK if there are 12oz 80s NYC garage punk 'scenesters' here. (Ha!!! sounds so lame.) Endsville shows at New Theatre & The Strip, Ivy n Ann's Mind's Eye at Trammps, Maxwell's in Hoboken. Irving Plaza. Cat Club. The Pyramid on Ave A. (Shit...Danceteria!!!) Kinda moved between the neo-60s n 70/80s peace/anarcho/punk. Industrial. Early 80s rap n breaking. OK, the 3 tenors. The main reason for this exhaustive 'acid trip' journey thru time, is that I've managed to become a 12oz x-fire 'pariah' in like 2-3 days. Presentin' my case since bad news travels fast. kick me to tha curb if I'm just too fucked up crazy...Yeah, politics &/or religion, people wanna kill. It's ok. Only regret what I said about a certain member's dog. THAT was completely f'd up...I'm an animal rescuer & advocate. 'Swastikas' infuriate me & if I'm on the edge...THAT symbol sends me over. That's the succinct version of "...SASSYGRRRL: The Graff Forum Pariah" ya love ta hate. Prob when I also dissed WWII SS/Nazi war re-enactments, rednecks, the fundamentalist south..ranks closed. Sheesh. Even x-hippie/punk-scenesters don't love everything. There are some real knowledgable folks in x-fire...but no eye 2 eye. Vexxxed. Decy hasn't joined the lynch mob tho. 1 outta 4? 7? 1,000,000? Damn grrrl... Time to get this cat hair outta my eye. I won't tell if you won't!!! ;) xxx 60s garage punks 4 ya "The Jujus"...You Treated Me Bad.
shai
Here's a link to the Bananas...best sad sack punk rock album to ever come out of Sacramento. 16000+ posts later I can say with confidence that most of the chatter here means nothing to me. Be interesting and funny, it seems to work. ILB, I'm definitely going to the first night of the 1234Go! shows. I'll give you a heads up when it gets to be about that time.
