This actually works. If you think of how krill swarm, the numbers are huge. So the whales have to migrate to where the bigger swarms are during whatever season. So when they get there, all they have to do is swim around and have a buffet. It is kind of like a rice bowl.

 

This reminded me, krill is extremely high in omega-3 fats which probably contributes to their ability to produce blubber. Blubber allows whales to travel into the polar regions which incidentally have a lot of krill. Pretty neat, it all comes full circle.
