earl broclo ESQ
http://planetbboy.com/ I went to see this tonight. It's a documentary that follows a few crews to the "Battle of the Year" competition in Germany. It's doing limited screenings right now in California, and NYC. If you're in NYC, it's playing at the landmark sunshine theater until thursday. You'll have to check the site for Cali dates. Seeing that some of you are into the graff n' dance, I figured i'd drop this in case you haven't heard about it. here's some youtube clips: the trailer: if you get a chance, it's worth checking out. earl broclo ESQ
the director was at the screening i went to, for Q&A at the end. he said that they have over 300 hours of footage, so the dvd is going to probably be pretty insane. it was good to hear him talking about why he made the film, and what he hoped it would do. i know some people might see this, and expect something more, but really, it's just a solid documentary on b-boys. it follows the character of the dancers, and personality behind it all. it's not just another electric boogaloo blow out.
