MAR
I am into woodworking and after I have been working in my shop for awhile, I get the some huge ass saw dust boogers. I will take pictures next time. Im trying to get into it, but i have no experience any suggestions?
CILONE/SK
I have been doing it for years. I can tell you that it taes alot of money to buy tools. I would narrow down what you really want to do in it, like turning, furniture, carving. Decide what you like and go from there. I build furniture mostly and can tell you about that if you want. I want to build chairs specifically. I have a lot of access to tools because my mother makes violins and my grandfather used to do woodworking. The style I would like to learn is Italianate. Keep in mind though I want to do this as a hobby for now, I don't foresee my self making a living off of it for a while.
CILONE/SK
Chairs are hard, because you have to get the angles just right. You will need a full woodworking shop to make them from scratch. Table saw, Band saw, jointer, planer, router. Also, depending on how you want to join the pieces, you might need a set of chisels or a jig for making mortise and tenons. Look up sam maloof, his chairs are considered some of the best.
MAR
i met Maloof a while back interesting person. While his chairs are well designed and comfortable they are not what I'm interested in.
