avils
this is what i was looking for - --------- On The Block by R.A The Rugged Man feat. L Dionne. The track is a throw-back to the naive 808 backdrops of the eighties, name checking defining artists and hip-hop landmarks of a bygone age "...when the mainstream hated rap music and James Brown samples was the new sh*t". Producer Jocko, constructs an eclectic blend of cartoon samples, beatbox spit, deft beats and vinyl rewinds on a forward-pushing cut that easily outshines the over-produced radio-rap of his SBIII peers. It's great to see this track included on the album as it presents an opportunity for young heads lost in the corporate mist to remember that "Before Biggie and Tupac got shot there was Scott La Rock". ---------
