RumPuncher
one time I was walking though this old lot on my way to work and there was a 'Detroit' cop car all burnt out, tires gone and covered with 'aero' throws. It was a little out of place as it looked totally post-WWIII, but no... just a film set. And In my city's there's tons of stalk worthy stars. I've seen Jessica Alba at a corner store and Mandy Moore at a party.

Right at the base of the bridge over the yard (on the north side) is a fenced lot full of nothing but prop cars. a ttc bus, a fake "channel 53 action news" satellite truck. 2 or 3 coroner's cars, and probably about 20 nyc cop cars. 2 or 3 new looking ones, 2 or 3 parking buggys, and then 2 or 3 each from the 60s/70s/80s. its nuts. and a whole batch of "period" cars to fill out traffic. I wish I had a chance to take photos when I saw it, hope its still there.
RumPuncher
I know the place you mean. I used to have to trek out that way when I was going to college. That lot was filled with odd stuff. There's also another great lot at the back of the impound down near Fort York. There's crazy IceCream trucks, fake SWAT vans, all types of cop cars and stunt cars. the lot used to just stretch way back and it looked like some car wasteland (think mad max) but now Condozilla is taking back all that land. I really prefer the burnt out treasures of the urban landscape.

My pops has video footage he shot for some seneca filmaking courses of all the old railroad cars in storage for the museum back there. I was probably about 3 or 4 at the time. It was nuts. before any of those buildings got redeveloped, when it was all just rotting. they even had an old Peter Witt Streetcar back there for years. When I start thinking about visiting again I cringe at the thought of seeing it fully condo-ized. The driving range really freaked me out, but the level of development now sounds crazy. Oh, and I think alot of the seattle cop cars they use here are leased from seattle. its cheaper I bet. I've looked in a few and they were "fully operational". The most bizzare thing I saw was when they moved a convoy of about 6 or 7 to north van with all the light bars taped up and the logo masked out. Can't drive them with any of that shit showing unless you got a cop driving apparently. Or on a set obviously...
