Its crazy to think about how the highways ran strong for years at a time to the point where there were layers of pieces, not just throws, and people were going over each other! Now we are lucky to see throws run for 2 months. What I wouldn't give to go back to '85 and be stuck in traffic!

 

Yeah that piece was hot.That was done in late 90 actually.CES and VET had that cool character face in between their pieces.A few more VET pieces that were good spots was the spot up high at the old Stella Dora spot along the 87.He had that up high VET that was there for years.Also VET had a nice piece up high where the freedom tunnels stick out before they buffed them(The spot where CES,YES2,and SEEN had them huge silver.) Also the dope VET silver on the rooftop on the westside(PSOUP had a spot about it high)..

Homeboy you dont know how you just made my day....First with the top pic..I totally forgot about MERG.He got up a little bit was dope!!The NES throw up under that.DOPE!!! You remember that nice SUB piece and FACT(Fact did a "I WAS HERE" piece)???That was sweet.JANE and JINX later did that spot but i never flicked that.That Metro North box!! That SIV throw up.He died in a car accident about 5 years ago.Guy would be happy to know that someone had pics of that.There is a ZORK throw up twords the bottom of that fill in.A SALE tag all the way bottom under that air conditioner looking thing,old FACT and MET tags(and MET hooking up INC.That was when they were on good terms)MEZ throw up,old MONE tag(MONER TMC) to the right of it,JENT going down the side.If i remember correct this was in Harrison and right next to this box was a small tiny house thing with POET,and EKAY and some others up on.I never saw that SINCE silver.(That is probably the second actual piece i seen him do.I remember that he had a nics simple with MEZ at the INC Tunnels there).SO MUCH stuff was being done at that spot at one time that it was really hard to keep up with everything.New pieces on the reg were popping up there.The pic right under that with the JEST "JE" throw up, and ENZ throw up.I never saw those but under there you can make out alot of green.That was a MONO piece.NOt all that but it was there...that MEZ,FACT,JINX, and ARSEN you totally have me stumped on though.Where was that???.I remember seeing theMEZ and FACT piece but only in pics.

its crazy how people used to do skinny cap outlines and fatcap borders, instead of doing 3d's...i kinda want to call it an old school westchester/ ct thing...anyone agree?

<span style='color:indigo'>i agree...but the only rockstar that really "pushed the envelope"(whatever the fuck that means) was that dude Jaes. I remember when he started bombing and using cookie cutter stencil fills in his new and revolutionary bombing tactics................i think.</span>

sisteray: if cookies only stayed good in the mail, you'd be in 7th heaven..during our baking i decided to go with the "choo choo train" cut, when amy went the "kitty cat" route. needless to say our mission was a successful one. p.s. i think if anyone knew about the "airplane" work, you'd be feared as well as recognized as the pioneer that you are.

eddie guns: i do think its an imok thing and a tvt thing, i have flix of jests like that, and i think i've seen really old stuff from philly like that too...i even have some old jive flix, that were like that. gotta give that man some credit. after all, he did invent the sneezeguards for salad bars..god bless.

YEAH ALL THIS WAS NICE 10 YEARS AGO! WHATS WRONG WITH LETTING THE PAST BE THE PAST. IM FROM NYC AND REMEMBER SOME OF THESE WRITERS, BUT CMON, THE FUTURE IS WHERE ITS AT. OH AND WESTCHESTER IS A BORING PLACE.

Westchester is boring? You don't know boring until you leave the NYC area and see whats out there. As far as graff, yes Westchester is not very active. Boring no. If you could've see it 10-18 years ago you'd have a different view...........the graff didn't get buffed then. Peace to all the Westchester heads who put in work!

yeah, at this point I do live in westchester. Lived in the bx, lived elsewhere, but who cares. I am content with westchester, and the amount of quality writers who came and are coming out of it. I dont expect evryone to sweat the history, but if you dont like it why bother looking?

It goes back before jest(The thick boarders).Guys were doing that in Westchester back in the early 80s.VET was rocking the thick outline boarder, as was CES as far back as 87/88 I can remember.Even dudes like REM 311, and the old TGF guys (OZZIE,LM4WAR22,FURIE,etc) were doing that shit back in like 82.

^^^Yes this is correct. CES and VET really accented that style towards the late 80's. But like you said it really started with TGF MOB cats, for some reason OZZIE sticks out in my mind the most for doing that. I do realize that VET is old TGF as well so thats why the style was bouncing around like that.

 

I would like to clearify what I said earlier about it being an IMOK style. IMOK cats would do the thick boarder but then shade it with the boarder color. Guys like CYCLE,GAZE and EMIT did this so thats how I connected the Westchester/CT (that Mr. Burns was referring to) with IMOK. I don't know if they took that from TGF/TMC.......I know EMIT is usually around these boards so maybe he can come in and expand on this?

 

Lastly, Juan Valdez......we must know each other if you're bringing up guys like REM311, LM4 and WAR222! They were some of Westchester's earliest crews, vintage!

did u paint in the 80s or early 90s in westchester eddie?Could of known each other.. I wouldnt of been surprised if IMOK was influenced off of Westchester stuff.Just for the simple reason that CT was right next to Westchester and guys like CROMAG(RIP) who was one of the 3 original IMOK presidents was from Westchester, and he chilled wth EROC(another pres.RIP) who painted with GAZE,EMIT,and those guys. None the less IMOK is a dope crew. I know people like FACT,NOBLE,and SUB use to go up to CT back in like 91 and paint with guys up there so im sure that they must of given them some of that Westchester influence, and vice versa from the guys in CT.
