THE DEFINITIVE JUX 2002 REVENGE OF THE ROBOTS TOUR

At TRANSIT (6th and Spring Garden)

$16 / All Ages / 21+ To Drink At The Bar

EL-P

- the former Company Flow frontman/producer and now label president of arguably hip-hop's best and most adventurous label, definite jux, El-P, a decade-long innovator of his own totally unique sound in hip-hop is one of the most important and boundary pushing artists in music right now. combining emotionally charged lyrics of both an introspective and confrontational subject matter and anchored by his standout production style with aggressive beats and a heady robo-groove, El-P is leading a movement of hip-hop and reviving an independent community unparalleled since the late-'70s/early-'80s punk rock scene in america

RJD2

- the ambitious dj/producer from ohio with his new full length "Dead Ringer" on the definitive jux label, already being heralded as an instrumental hiphop classic equaling the greatness of DJ Shadow's (who he just toured with) "Entroducing". an excellent live performer and backing beat man for the whole def jux crew.

MR. LIF

- perhaps the best live frontman/mc in all of hiphop right now. known for his amazing performance skills, charisma and ability to connect and interact with everyone in the crowd. new politically charged full length coming out in september on def jux.

CAGE

- the infamous nyc mc, making up 1/2 the smut peddlers and weathermen. eastern conference and fondle'em records.

COPYWRITE

Making Time R5 Productions / Tone Arm / Making Time Presents

The God Loves Ugly Tour

At Gasoline Warehouse (8th and Callowhill)

$15 / All Ages / 21+ To Drink At The Bar

ATMOSPHERE

- featuring: Slug, Mr. Dibbs and Blueprint. densely packed rhymes which showcase a clever lyrical flow that recalls early de la soul if they'd been produced by el-p. exposing a refreshing sense of self-deprecating realism all too often lacking among the current hip-hop scene's posturing poseurs (kind of like emo-hiphop) with lo-fi d.i.y production. when Slug's rhymes and producer ant's beats click, the results are as good as underground hip-hop gets. rhymesayers / fat beats records

MURS

- having just finished his full length debut for the definitive jux label, as well as split releases with the weathermen and mr. lif, murs from the legendary living legends crew (who spawned the likes of aesop rock etc) is marking his return back to philly

BROTHER ALI & DJ BK ONE

- crazy looking albino (all white hair w/ pink eyes that look different directions) from the rhymesayers crew. very talented and about to be HUGE mc from minnesota.

KENNETH MASTERS

- one of philly's best mc's ! arrakis records

Knock it off and PLEASE stick with one thread.

Actually if you bother to read your links, you'll see that all but one are from older shows months ago. This was the second post I made about the show in two months. xo

No offense.

Why do you care? What is the difference between making a new thread and bumping an old one? Go outside and stop crying about stupid shit on the internet.

who writes this shit?

ATMOSPHERE:...a clever lyrical flow that recalls early de la soul if they'd been produced by el-p. exposing a refreshing sense of self-deprecating realism all too often lacking among the current hip-hop scene's posturing poseurs

^ What an overly written, pretentious load of nonsensical shit.

"De La Soul if produced by El-P?"

What the fuck?

How about Guns n' Roses produced by Rod Stewart.

Or Tina Turner produced by McCauley Caulkin.

I didn't realize Aesop was "spawned" by Legends either. That must have happened in that alternate dimension I keep hearing so much about.
