Guest --zeSto--
as of today... 1.00 EUR Euro = 0.987598 USD United States Dollars 1 EUR = 0.987598 USD 1 USD = 1.01256 EUR That's right kids... save you pennies, because it looks like theres a new power house in town. The Euro is now worth the same as the American Dollar (which is set to decline). Maybe in 15 years that 'funny money' of yours wont be near as strong... discus! http://www.cnn.com/video/world/1999/01/04/euro.first.day.site.jpg'>

Mr. Mang
how is the currency of all of those countries going to be unequal to the US??
Guest --zeSto--
well yeah... it's good in europe... But the real stregth of a currency come from how it can be traded and valued internationally. The 'yard stick' (a great term because it's so danm out-of-date) is the American Dollar. Generally you only get a new currency when countries change political sides (like dropping comunism). But the Euro was built to improve the global market! And I predict that it will surpass the United States Dollar as the Yard Stick of value . dot.
loonies the discouraging part about that, is that the loonie is always going to be measured against the US buck unless something ridiculous happens... and our govt and businesses view this as a good thing to increase trade. so if the US buck drops, we drop...unless we can figure out some sort growth policy that is independent from the states...but that's highly unlikely... two weeks ago, 86% of americans said that they were not in favor of a currency for Canada and the US, similar to the euro... is it me, or are they uninformed and banging their american chests without having a clue? -dot.
