    My point was based upon fact, TotalWine has been around since 1991. I'm happy they're now located wherever you are, not sure what the confederacy has to do with anything. TotalWine originated in Delaware "the first state" above the Mason Dixon line and they have 72 locations nationwide. Clearly not a "new" mega-store.

    I consider rare beers to be anything that you won't find readily available through standard distribution. I live in one of the few cities in the US where it's legal to import beers outside of the three tier distribution system. Shops will pay people to drive beers back from California, Oregon, Washington State, etc. When they get a small shipment of Russian River they'll keep stock for regular customers. They set aside two bottles of Fantome Noel for me over the holidays and recently picked up some Brasserie De Silly La Divine after I mentioned how much I enjoyed that breweries Noel Tripel Blonde.

     

    Good customer service and supporting small local business is worth a few extra dollars, IMO.

    Fuck an overpriced local store and screw a BevMo.

     

    TotalWine (TotalWin) is a new chain popping up and slays everyone. The prices are unbelievably cheap and the selection is insane!

     

    TotalWine's alright but I'll take a local mom and pop shop with a good beer selection that may be a couple dollars higher than TotalWine (or a major chain) any day. Just like I'll pay a little extra to buy from a local butcher or cheesemonger. I typically buy my beers from places where I know the owner by name and he/she knows me. They know what styles I like and they'll set rare bottles aside for me when they can.

     

    And totalwine's been around for at least 15 years, it started as TotalBeverage in the 90's. Nothing new or revolutionary there.

    -then blaming the bears for tearing your gear apart while you're stuck twenty feet up a tree.

     

    now I haven't spent a whole lot of time outside the city however if you're trying to hide from some bears by climbing a tree I'm confident that you're doing it wrong.

    Why are half the pics on this site showing up as big black boxes instead of pics?

     

    Is this only happening for me?

     

    This was happening to me earlier too. I turned off the internet and turned it back on. This fixed everything.

    RIP to your friends.

     

    They found an old friend of mine in a well last week. 3 dudes robbed him for some pocket change, shot him and dumped his body in some vacant property. My friend was a community activist and local business owner. He'd been missing since early September. The spawn of the 90's crack epidemic is running rampant in my city,
