  7. Theo.Huxtable please understand although favelas have this really BAD reptation, not everything in the favela is misery or drugs and guns..it is just the news always like in the USA always tell bad thinsg ebcase this is what sell papers.. Before I come in the US people in Brazil tell me oh New York City ohhh Los Angeles is dangerous gangs..crips bloods all this stuff..it is about attitude and be smart right? I am more likely to be robber or killed in Copacabana than ina favela..At least in Rocinha we have rules liek my friend Washington says....This video is only 2 mins long..listen what he says about being safer in Rocinha.
  8. I think the problem of the way they dress is everybody dress like this..t shirt, surf shorts and flip flops so it is hard for police to see who is the bad and good..If the police come in the favela best is NOT to run..but face them and stay on a wall so they see that you have nothing to hide..RUNNING will probably get you shot..becase the police do not know why you would run if you are honest person, right?
  9. DRUNKEN-ASSHOLE-ONER..please tell me what is "noob"??I do not know all american slangs yet..
  10. Ok in this next set of fotos I AM IN ONE OF THEM......but I am not one of the dead guys LOL!...the guy sprales out was in Rocinha..The guy being carry was Bem Ti Ve who was the drug lord of Rocinha until nov 2005 when the police came in and shot the place up..Rumor have it that the police, one guy went into the favela to rent a place 6 months earleir and rented a place across from Bem Ti Ve's place and set up ambush when he was sleeping, they just went in and kill him when he is sleeping.. Ok so who ever guess which one I am, the first person to guess corret I will send them a nice Rocinha T shirt...ok pronto caras??? (ready guys?) Ok this guy is call a "Foguteiro...he is the guy that light up the firecrackers to inform the comunity a enemy (police or other gang trying to takeover) is in the Favela.. Ok I am not one of these guys
  11. The first foto I am not sure of this is real becase it was sent to me
  12. Flip flops becase it is hot, they are cheap and most are poor..Flip Flop in Brazil cost equal to 2$ or les depend on where you buy them..
  13. it is verry rae you see kids under the age of 15 with guns.they would need to be verry trusted or mature. most of these guys are between 16 and??? depends becase most of them die before they reach 22..sad but true. You guys want MORE???
  14. Ok heres some fotos of what drug dealers look like in Brazil. Some are from my favela..I think in the USA the drug dealers do not have guns in the open air like theses guys do..Some fotos the guy ask not to show his face but most ok it. Do not ask me how i get the fotos, becase then i would have to kill you (lol) all I can say is I know mant involve in trafic in favelas..everbody know somebody involve in it. I am not involve in it, I like my life too much..but sad to see these young people need to do this. :( ok here goes...if you have question you can ask but I do not tell names or places of where these taken ok? Fotos are for "education" purposes only.....ehehhehe
  15. well I am a simple guy and I know there is not much I can do in my own goverment becase we in the favelas are not even recognize by anybody..even on maps where favelas are suposed to be you do not see them becase they do not put favela on the map....All I can do is to educate myself and try help others in my comunity.
  16. Lula as he is called grew up poor selling peanuts on the streets and now being president he is trying to help but the curruption is so deep in the politics. Hers a guy who was really poor but yet he have 2 private jets..I would think he would want to give back more to the people.
  17. what is Imortal technique?? give me a web site or soemthing becase I do not know what you talk about?
  18. Funk is from the favela so limit on availbilty of good equipmenst to produce good funk..sorry
  19. The wrting below is from another web site, but this guy write the truth aboutt he situation in Brazil about favelas.. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- What most people fail to see is that most favelas started mostly because: - corrupt governments in the North and Northeast of the country chose to "expel" people rather than work to give those people conditions to make a decent living where they were born - cheap labour was needed during the economic boom of the 70's and this fueled one of the largest peace-time migratory waves in the history of humankind. And again, corrupt governments did not invest in housing and education for these migrants. The result is millions of people who have little or no formal education, who are usually offered the lowest paying jobs, who are segregated, who are looked down on by Brazil's white middle-class, who have fewer and fewer chances of joining mainstream Brazil and who sometimes have to resort to whatever means available to survive. Favelas started on the wrong foot and they will be around for a long time unless governments decide to take up the challenge of respecting citizens regardless of their wealth, ethnicity or place of origin. In the meantime, crime might be the only light at the end of the proverbial tunnel for poor, coloured young people. And all this is a crying shame.
