  1. remember seeing someone do some dope shit on cardboard a while ago, thought i'd give it a shot...
  2. i usually use a size 00 or 000 size brush for the outline. One thing ive learned about outlining with a brush is that it helps to have a more fluid paint. I used Golden fluid acylics, because they are still opaque enough to cover in one line, and they are much more fluid than regular acrylics. I also use a certain product ( some sort of gel medium) that i mix with regular acrylics, that makes them more fluid, and stay wet longer if your blending. it works well, but not quite as good as the golden fluid acrylics...
  3. all acrylics, and yes, i outline with a brush as well
  4. nah, it wouldnt be too expensive, i've seen little samples of woodstain for just a few bucks at any art store, it doesnt take much. That is a great idea though! i will definitley keep that in mind for the next couple pieces i'll be working on!
  5. sooo tight! ^^^ stuck on the background colors...thinking dark greens and lime green highlights...
  6. acrylics and spraypaint on panel
  7. over six years, my first time drawing graff, and one of my more recent sketchbooks....
  8. thats too bad you lost your older work! for this book im working on, i wanted it to be a burner every page, give or take the few pages of scribbles here and there, i've been doin ok so far! thanks for the kind words. the last sketch you posted was insanely dope! would love to flip through one of your books!
  9. i will be the first to admit i hate the background on this canvas, wish i could fix it up, but now that its done im moving on.... but if your going to say it looks like a "pile of donkey shit" at least elaborate a little bit, and explain why... then maybe you should look at the last few pictures you posted in this thread..... just sayin...
  10. uh oh....stereotypical graff canvas comin up...
  11. great work eba, love the first one you posted!
  12. is there a specific type of gesso you would reccomend to prime with? i have always hated the rigid texture of canvas's, but the gesso i use doesnt seem like it would be thick enough to layer on, then sand for a smooth texture...
  13. after lookin up more work by erosie, i still stand by my statement. i still see much more structure in the letters in vipers pieces. this isn't to say that i dont like erosie's work, its great, and very original, but to me the letters are much more abstracted. again, not saying thats a bad thing at all, just seems to go against the point the person who posted that flick is trying to make...
  14. great thread viper. your work is very high quality. about what Schnitzel said.... there is absolutley nothing wrong with using a lot of color, and going over the same spot multiple times... that is one of the main advantages to painting a canvas rather than painting on the street. if you have the materials and the time, why WOULDN'T you use a shitload of colors? i sure wouldnt want to see a canvas with some 2-color piece. i've painted alot of those and they get boring fast.... and i hate when people are always asking "do you paint" "lets see a wall" everyone paints, or doesnt paint for their own damn reasons... and frankly if viper had never painted a wall in his life, i would still think his shit is dope regardless. i hate when dudes try to pull the "im so much more street than you, you dont paint walls" bullshit argument.... and if you look at vipers sketches, its pretty fuckin obvious that he has a very good grasp on letter forms, i dont think he's trying to cover up bad structure with effects, it looks to me like he's just trying to push himself to the next level... and the Erosie piece is a pretty laughable example... its obvious to me who has better letter structure out of the two...
