  1. I just remembered... Try uploading it to www.whatthefont.com. Just save an 'I Heart NY' image, delete the heart, and you should be good to go.

    Anti-abortion law

So what about when a woman gets raped? What if a couple isn't financially capable of supporting a child, and they accidentally get pregnant due to defective contraception? While I don't agree with women taking the morning after pill as a form of birth control, or getting abortions simply because they were too stupid to use protection, there are definitely circumstances in which it's simply the right thing to do. There's no sense in bringing a child into this world if you're not willing and able to raise it.
  3. I understand the concept of it, but there are so many little freaking buttons, switches and knobs everywhere that overwhelm me. I'm used to Modplug, where it's a lot easier to see what you're doing, although I'm sure FL has tons of effects and options that Modplug doesn't.
  4. Damnit, Fruity Loops is confusing as hell. I'm not used to these sequencer programs.
  5. There's a 'FONTS FONTS FONTS' thread in Untitled... you're more likely to get an answer there.
  6. Yes. It's common knowledge that roaches hate cookies and will leave you alone forever if you so much as offer them some.
  7. See Spuds, what you're failing to realize is that Mainter, being a computer himself, doesn't have much of a sense of humor.
  8. the only way it goes faster is if there is more seeders then leechers if you do bittorrents dont be a leecher some sites will ban you if you do not seed a certian amount of the time you seed by leaving the bit torrent client running when the file you is done downloading Quoted post [/b] See, I've heard that your download speed is affected by your overall uploading amount, but I couldn't figure out how the program would "know" how much you've been seeding. For instance, if you finish downloading one file, seed it for a while, and start downloading a different file, how will the client know that you had been seeding the first file? Does it keep a log somewhere recording your total uploading/downloading? * Haha, DETO
  9. Yeah, I'd feel much safer downloading a file through Bit Torrent than downloading something from any other file sharing method. I think a lot of torrent hosting sites scan the file before even posting it for people to download. Another thing for you to know about Bit Torrent is that your download speed is proportional to the amount you upload, so most downloads will start off slow and gain speed over time.
  10. Limewire is basically just a program that allows people to share files on their computer. It's a direct connection between you and the other person. Bit Torrent connects you to a number of people who all have the file (or at least parts of it) and grabs bits and pieces from all of the people, placing them together as it goes. It also automatically uploads pieces to other people if they need it. It's just a different method of sharing files.
  11. Download a Bit Torrent client (www.bittorrent.com, www.bittornado.com, www.bitcomet.com, etc.) and then go to a torrent search site (www.torrentspy.com, www.thepiratebay.org, www.demonoid.com, etc.) and download the .torrent file for the thing you want. Open the file with the client, and let it run.
  12. Still, 4GB is an extremely high amount of memory. Especially if that's just for running the OS.
  13. Yeah, I try to. I suppose I should give it a shot, after doing a full backup.
  14. I'm still rocking Service Pack 1. I had heard way too many stories of SP2 fucking up peoples' computers.
  15. Would that include a version that I got from a friend... so the serial # isn't unique?
  16. HA told you that MACS were not safe for long Quoted post [/b] Yup... I think the only reason Macs are considered safe is because hackers aren't bothering to make viruses for them, due to the fact that the majority of the world uses Windows. Anyway, johhny ballbags... it appears as though your motherboard does not exist... heh.
  17. I have an Asus motherboard... I actually ended up calling them when the 3.0GHz didn't work on my old Asus, and they told me it wasn't compatible with that motherboard... so I bought a newer Asus board, and it worked fine. here: Select the processor you're using (You're going to need to know the specs on it, though... the socket type, etc.)
  18. <!--QuoteBegin-Mainter@Feb 15 2006, 04:48 PM im just saying with his computer knowledge he will fry them by ESD during work if he goes up to a computer opens it up and pulls out the processer shoves it in his pocket gets it dirty bends the pins so on................ Quoted post True... but yeah, johnny as long as you're careful you should be alright. Try to get one of those static proof bags that electronics usually come in to transport it.
  19. I dunno... when I bought my P4 3.0GHz processor and tried to put it into my old motherboard, it just made a constant beeping noise when I turned it on. I took it out and put my old processor back in and it worked fine.
  20. How do you figure? As long as they're the same socket type and the motherboard can support the speed, he'll be fine. Even if it can't support the speed, it won't fry anything (or at least shouldn't)... it just won't boot up.
  21. It's just a matter of physically taking the old one out and replacing it, as long as your motherboard is compatible with a faster processor and supports hyperthreading. I'd go to your motherboard manufacturer's website and see if there's a compatibility list that has the processor you want on it.
