thanks the two of the DJ and the MC are my first "semi-commisioned work" they are buddies of mine who just got signed and had me do some promo shots, and while i did it for free(im that nice), i should get a bucnch of referals out of it.

spent the good part of today in the darkroom...my eyes hurt. i know some of these still need some work...feedback welcome.

well fuck it all to hell...the lab closed at 10 and all i got done in 2 hours was about 6 contact sheets(i am waaaay behind) heres a little sumptin. prints on the way. for those of you that where asking me about 3200 film..heres an idea of what you can do with it...this was at a friend's show, he just got signed and these are some promo shots for him(all done at 10 sec, so some arn't gonnna show up on this contact sheet) like i said ....great for that reeeaaly low light stuff. be back soon just for kicks...

both the pill shots are pretty good...kinda like the cup cake too. the picture of that alley way could really become something...notice how the light on tree line dosn't look quite right? and raising the contrast within the alley would help too...if you don't know how, ask in the photoshop help thread. i am just now learning about digital at a pro level...i am using these nikon negitive scanners at school, they are dope shit, but take foreveeeeer.

Gnome toys:you stick with digital cause its ass. im sorry if that offends a whole lot of people, which it will, and i am not really sorry, but while i have seen some ill work with digital, shit that can't be done with film, i have yet to see a digital shot that really captues me and shoves emotion down my spine the way film does. maybe saying digital is ass is a little harsh but i for one am impressed a hell of a lot more with film shots. also knowing that the actual frame was brought to life in someones hands in a lab somewhere, instead of downloading it on to your hard drive is another factor....whatever thats me. fermentor: i cant remember which, but one of the very popular soft synths i beleive has a TR 606 model on it and is very tweakable....but you dont seem like a soft synth guy at all, i like that, keep shit natural, technology is good i love it but sometimes you gotta get vintage on some shit to give it that organic sound, so much new shit coming out sounds like video game butt slop, if you know how to use soft synths well and can really recreate a natural sound thats one thing, i for one like to keep shit hood dutty with my yamaha dx100...ask a brotha. oh yeah... this is hot very nice, you cant seem to go wrong with dogs, ever, all dog pictures turn out good for some reason. props on the pups. *edit...some mother fuckers can't spell, i am one of those mother fuckers

whoooa, flashback , i used to have that same drummachine, it was busted so i used it in an art project, some tool made off with it when it was on display, tragic. that train tunnel shot is nice, loving the DOF and reflections there my man. wasn't digging the "feel good hit of the summer" slide show, just not my style, seemed really repetitive and that song really blew donkey nuts. i did however really like that photo on your homepage of the girl at the desk, post some more of that illness. i will try to scan more prints and get them up here but Sin City might peel me from the screen at any moment and that takes priority.

turnyourback i assume these where film,... you can get 3200 film at almost any photo store, good brand is Tmax3200 by kodak, this allows you to take pictures in extreamly low lit situations such as yours. i have turned many a writers on to this and many of them tell me the dont even try to use thier digital for night shots anymore. it can be a bit grainy, but i love the shit. give it a try.

that shot of the gulls was anything but easy too, i had to untie my shoe so that i could fling it at them with my foot, then run into the swarm of gulls and get shat on like crazy all before my shoe came back down into my shot...this took multiple atempts. *edit that sepia shot of the LA River is gorgous, i downloaded it a few days ago as my desktop, may possibly be asking for a print. is that digital or film? it looks like theres burning done to the sky, i assume you can do that with digital too?

a buddy of mine were just talking about the book, he's older about 26 and remember's more than i do about "the golden years" and pretty much said the same thing, and what i already know. but if another book was to come out about DC i WOULD NOT want a DC writer, or even a graffiti writer at that to write it, get some tom clancy ass mother fucker to write it who has no beef, no grudges, and no reason to want to exclude parts of real history.
