I didn't mean to add to your ink, I meant to smear over your tag.

Either way, it's not my secret weapon, nor did I think up of it myself.

word, of course the inks bleed.

by the way, i was talking about petroleum jelly (vaseline).

I know the flick you're talking about, and keep in mind some of that ghosting is coming from the base he used, Nero. But yeah, Potassium Perm. is used to sterilize water in ponds and can be found extremely easily on eBay. You could also try a pet store / science store.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...04&category=413 One pound of the powder for 10 plus shipping.

  4. Omen, that shit may be widespread in graff capitol NYC, but down in my city on the left coast, there's certain surfaces that get painted over and certain ones that get buffed with a cleaning solvent. The super pourous surfaces always get painted over, like concrete. But alot of things, like dumpsters, signs of any kind, unprimed metal, garbage cans, etc., get buffed via cleaning solvent - meaning if you're ink is hardcore and stains, it's going to stay there while the other (weaker) inks disappear.

I've pretty much figured out all the markers, caps and paint brands - I know what I like and what I don't like, everything's pros and cons, what makes one marker or cap better than another for certain things, etc. Ink is basically the final mystery for me.

On the side of making a mess, I've been creative with where I do my dirty work - for instance, a bathroom in a shitty restaurant, the kind where there's only one toilet and you can lock the door. Honestly I could give a shit less if some grimey ass ink spilled onto their trashy sinks whilst refilling or whatever.

Finally, the handstyles. Please believe I practiced my hand to no end before ever having any concern with the inks  I do agree though, you need to develop a style that is worth looking at before messing with the hard staining inks - no one wants to see that wack toy shit lasting the buff. Keep it clean.

    Stay up/

  5. Just so you know those super pourous surfaces with all the tiny cracks and holes that are really easy to stain, are also the ones that end up getting painted over instead of buffed. And when that happens it doesn't matter how hard your shit stains because there's only one thing that can ("supposedly") keep your shit from getting buffed by paint and I'm keeping my mouth shut about that... :dazed:

There is two pros I can think of when it comes to white out. One is that it's super opaque, so you could add it to an unopaque ink to help things out (or just use it straight), and two is that it seems to dry thick and stick when it's unthinned.

I know that fish oil really doesn't do anything for the stain at all. All it does is water down the ink and make it take longer to dry. Alot of people have been getting good results with Potassium Perm., although it is a reactive chemical and has the potential to fuck up... But yeah, ditch the fish oil.

Oh yeah? I knew that Gentian Violet and Crystal Violet were related, if not the same, but also Methyl now? Sounds good... I just wish I could find this shit soon.

Mainly because those surfaces are pourous.

I'm sure it's opaque, but I've buffed it before off desks in school and it doesn't stain too much at all; I think you may be confused with what stain really means.

  8. Aight , I did a little research. Appaerently the violet dye in Garvey has the generic name of "Basic Violet 1", which is Methyl Violet (and probably in some way related to Methylene Blue and Gentian Violet). The site I looked at said it was used in manufacture of paints and inks, so I'm pretty sure this is the stuff... If you could get your hands on this shit it could easily help any ink... This chemical stain shit is fun.

The best tagging marker in the world is the mini ultrawide.

They stopped making them because the machine that made them broke down never to be fixed again. So, if you don't have a mini, I feel bad for you guys...anyone who has one and has used one will tell you it is the best.

Rubbish don't blow up the mini spot:)

    http://www.artprimo.com/miniwide.jpg'>

I'm not too worried about blowing up the spot anymore, I got my share of what I need and I'm happy with it. I just need to stock on some extra nibs.

Either ways, Griffin isn't that great looking but it does stain harder than Pilot ink and Marsh Dye in my experience, and just about anyone can access it even if you live in the middle of Shitsville. That and you have the choice of using the applicator that comes with it, which is drippy like some people prefer, or filling it in a mop or Pilot; just don't put that shit in a Mini Wide because word is it won't flow through proper. Of course, Garvey does beat it by a long shot

Just so you know we usually make a simple Krink ourselves by mixing silver paint with a little paint thinner to get it flowing, and than if you're feeling funkay you can add in some aluminum dust or brake flui. Shit only works in mops and it's alot cheaper than what KR charges.

Oh and Aev, the ingredients to Garvey...

    Ethanol

    N-Butanol

    Butyl Glycol

    Polyamid Resin

    "Violet Dye"

    Isopropanol

    Propyl Acetate

I'm sure its the "violet dye" that causes all the hard stains... Now if I could only find the chemical name ;)

  10. man, there's so many simple recipes on this thread.

oh well lazy, i'll help you out. if you want to order shit online, i suggest getting violet garvey off ebay and keep it the way it is.

either that or go to a shoe store / walgreens, and either get black griffin or purple/red fiebing's. both stain pretty hard.

good cartridges thats about it you can pull the nib out with a pair of pliers and refill the carcass with whatever you want i use strait griffin it mixes with the ink and stains well when putting th nib back in cut the nib at an angle and work it back and fourth this might take a couple tries now to avoid a leak crimp the metal around the nib and add some epoxy to prevent leakage now if it leaks take a piece of sloth a sock works tear a strip off and tapee it around the marker like a scarf if it leaks the ink will be abnsorbed.

    GV.

i just picked up soem of the liquid today thanks to this here web thingy ima bout to try it i hope it doesn't do what you say it does.

Wow. Why would you even want to go through all that effort when a Pilot is 10x easier to fuck around with...

  12. Actually, Garvey's base is ethanol... more on that later.

On the carbon paper and alcohol thing, I'm pretty sure those are the main 2 ingredients to printer cartridge ink. I heard that from somewhere or another.

I've been hunting for them like mad, first from pharmacies and than from the internet. It seems like there isn't any store on the internet that sells it that accepts money orders.

I'm looking into some local science type stores now but they're currently out of stock of the shit i want.

Don't use the liquid type, all it will do is water down your ink. I guess you can't get the powder Gentian Violets in drug stores like I previously thought, after calling damn near every one in my smut town. I'm pretty sure the main place you can find it is at a science / chemistry store. Look in your phonebook for one...

And make sure you get the powder

EDIT: Anyone know anything about this stuff? All from www.monstercolors.com -

Ink Additive - Powder Form - Says nothing about whats in it, except they claim it will make your ink alot stronger.

    http://www.whitey-ford.com/imagestore/inkadditive.jpg'>

Power Stain - Supposedly "unbuffable" stainer - Permanent on all surfaces - Again nothing about whats in it.

    http://www.whitey-ford.com/imagestore/powerstain.jpg'>

They have some cool stuff on the site check it out, I have yet to email the guy to see if they ship to the us :(

Yeah, I've seen those before - just a small example of some of the great shit they have in Europe aside from their superior paints... Those "additives" are likely mixtures of methylene blue, gentian violet and who knows what else. I have no idea how the PowerStain is but I'd love to use it - only thing is , I'm almost positive they won't ship here - if they do , let me know.

  16. keep in mind that he does live in australia and they have different brands down there.

as for the etch thing, i think it's combination of the fact that it heats up spots quicker due to the fact that it costs a lot more to replace a window than to buff a wall, that it's a felony as opposed to a misdemeanor to do even one etch tag in alot of areas, and the fact that it's dangerous and can fuck you up if you spill it anywhere on your skin.
